Die-Hard Tekken Fans Can Earn A Free Tattoo Tomorrow

Hardcore fans do the craziest things. But only to the outsiders is it crazy; to those dedicated followers, it's perfectly natural.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is on store shelves in North America and is set to launch tomorrow in Europe. And to celebrate that imminent launch, publisher Namco Bandai has teamed up with the world famous Frith St. Tattoo studio in Soho, London to offer the aforementioned fans a free Tekken -inspired tattoo. All they have to do is show up with a copy of the game, and they'll get inked. …but they're gonna have to be quick about it.

The press release calls this a "videogame first" but there is a caveat: You have to be one of the first five people to come to the tattoo parlor with a copy of the game, and the work can't cost more than £300. The good news is that you do have a choice of images, and you won't be inked that day; just book your appointment for a later date. Artists for the game will be around, too. Said UK Namco Bandai Partners Marketing Director Lee Kirton:

"It’s exciting to be working with The Frith St. Tattoo studio – they are one of the best in the business and will provide the highest quality TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 tattoos. The characters in the game have been intricately designed so the 5 lucky dedicated fans will get themselves a fantastic tattoo that would normally cost hundreds."

The Frith St. Studio is home to several award-winning artists such as Emiliano, Miles, Steward, Valerie, Stefano and Jordan, who all produce "premium tattoos." So if you're in the London area and you want to prove your faithfulness to the esteemed Tekken series, you had best get up early tomorrow. Like, really, really early.
