Rumor: Black Ops II Gets Both Hardened And Prestige Editions

Oh, don't act all surprised.

Although they haven't been officially detailed as of yet, it seems Activision has seen fit to hype up excited GameStop employees by confirming that Call of Duty: Black Ops II will receive both a Hardened and Prestige Edition .

Apparently, the source in question comes from GameStop and has revealed the contents of the hefty Prestige Edition. Again, none of this has been confirmed but for what we assume to be $149.99, this package would have to feature some pretty awesome content. Check it out:

Details on the Hardened Edition weren't provided but if we had to guess, it'll retail for $79.99, as past Hardened iterations have done. Now, with all the special and collectors editions of games planned for the holiday season, which ones are you gonna get? Will you spring for the Prestige Edition of Black Ops II , which is likely to sport that mammoth $150 price tag?

So if you have CoD Elite and want your Prestige and hardon editions you are just buying stuff you already have access to?

In other words, for all the fools with too much money, yes you can pay hundreds of dollars for something worth at best $60.

I'll buy it…..

…but only if it comes with my very own personal high-altitude drone & 3 dozen self- guided smart missiles.

yay another overpriced cheap POS thats totally what we need!
and the sheep will be lined up around the fence to throw their money away.
sigh.
as the saying goes, a fool and his money are easily departed!
i wish this industry would go back to true collectors editions with true collectible items and value!
or the limited editions which were you know, limited!
i remember playstation AU said GT5 was only going to get 150 GT5 sig editions into the country, even though JBHIFI in parra alone 6 months after release had a huge stack of them about 60 at least sitting out back!
and thats one frigging store!

we need to go back to the truly collectible items!
thing that were actually made well, like the uncharted 2 purma dagger that was freaking sweet!
THATS a collectors edition, not the 300 dollar crap that was the KZ3 hig edition!
i miss making of videos too, every CE use to have them but now your lucky if 2 a year have them!
or even signed artwork from the development team.
anything of collectible value, not this cheap plastic sh*t that cost 2 dollars to make and will break in 16 seconds!

yeah – i would get the hardened if it included elite like mw3 did for all the map packs – otherwise its just not worth it. I already buy cod x 2 each year as i get the pc version too.

Not a rumor anymore … ( just checked on official black ops site and it s up for pre-order now ).

The $180 Care Package edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops II packs in a host of premiums, the first of which is a remote-control MQ-27 Dragonfire drone (pictured at right). In addition, the Care Package includes the Nuketown Zombies and Nuketown 2025 bonuses maps, as well as a two-sided steelbook case, two challenge coins used to unlock "exclusive" digital content, and multiplayer weapon camo.

"Comes in a replica supply crate" ??? not mentioned in the article but showed in the pic along the rest mentioned above .
