Source Squashes GTAV November 23 Release Date Rumor

You may have heard that a certain piece of retail evidence (via Zavvi) slapped Grand Theft Auto V with a November 23, 2012 launch date.

But another retail source which asked to be remain anonymous told Videogamer that in fact, there's little chance GTAV is coming out in November. He said he'd "bet my wife, my house and your life on [GTAV] not coming out this year."

Once again, for the record, Rockstar and Take-Two have not officially announced any date for the game in question. We really don't even have a release window and recently, some analysts have started to question whether or not GTAV would even launch this fiscal year (before March 31, 2013). On the other hand, there have been some small rumblings from the developer this past week, so maybe the new official unveiling isn't far off…

I wonder if we will see a typical game roll-out for this at all or if they will stay tight lipped and then just spring it on people for some kind of shock and mystery factor.

I used to think it would come out in the Fall but here we are in late August and still no news. I'm guessing Spring now at the earliest.

RockStar seems to have settled in on May as their month for releasing their games. Red Dead Redemption, L.A Noire and Max Payne have all been released in May, before that GTA4 was mid April. The only one that didn't release close to this window is Midnight Club. So if I were a betting man, my money would be on a May release of GTAV.
