Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 Hits The Digital World In August

If you missed it the first time around and are having difficulty locating a physical copy, we got good news.

Today, NIS America has announced that Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 will become available as a digital title on the PlayStation Network on August 7 in North America and a day later in Europe. …yeah, long name.

The cool part is that the PSN version will be "fully compatible with preexisting trophy and save data," so you could go back and forth between physical and digital versions if you needed to (for some reason). This sequel focuses on the young sisters of the four heroines from the first title; they're out to take down the Criminal of the Free World, Arfoire, who has defeated the four CPUs of Gamindustri. …okay, it's a bizarre plot but that should intrigue you, right?

Anyway, apologies on not getting the review done earlier. Things were a little hectic at the time; I'll try to review it when it hits the PSN.

I didn't know that the saves for the physical discs and the digital versions are not interchangeable. Wow. Is this true with Infamous 2? I got the digital version as part of PS+ but I still intend to buy the physical copy once I have the budget for it. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

Physical and digital games usually are incompatible, but there are instances of it working. It's too unreliable to count on it though, so you're gonna have to check with that particular game on message boards and whatnot. I know different regions are locked to the same region save file, and I believe it's the same situation for physical and digital copies!

While Nepgear isn't as good a main character the game is much better and has an old school mechanic that people should be happy with. It's no epic JRPG, but it is plenty of fun and the 8-bit world map is cute. I play it now and then when I want something funny and not too complex.
