Dude…look at this. Just look at this. I'm not even a fighting fan and I almost want it.
It's the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's Set, which is slated to drop this September for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. As you can see, it's loaded with all sorts of goodies, but there are a ton of digital extras to go along with the physical glory.
Here's the downloadable stuff: Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix , Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition , Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (with all costume DLC), and Street Fighter X Tekken (with all character Swap costume DLC). That's enough for a kick-ass collection right there, but we haven't even gotten to the actual stuff…you know the goodies that exist on the physical plane.
There's an 8"-tall Ryu statue, a 64-page hardcover art book (including some fan submissions), an 11-disc soundtrack, and a 2-disc Blu-Ray set featuring a documentary of the series, the "Street Fighter IV" and "Super Street Fighter IV" anime movies, and the "Street Fighter" animated series. Oh, wait, and "Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie," too. If that's not enough, Capcom has announced that if you purchase the PS3 version, you'll receive download codes for all three Street Fighter Alpha games as PS1 Classics. Not enough? How about 175 PlayStation Network avatars? Yeah, 175.
This totally nutty collection can be yours on September 18 for only $149.99. Just try to resist.
Holy fudge! At first (when staring at the image) i thought this was going to be all the street fighters ported with HD graphics or something bizarre like that. Boy was this guy wrong!
That is an amazing amount of stuff for a collectors edition nobody can complain about that price. If I liked the series more I would pick it up but I just haven't been as big a fan of street fighter since the 90's. Cool for all the diehards though. I wish more companies would do more like this. It would be perfect for Metal Gear or Final Fantasy.
Nice. I think the price is pretty darn reasonable, too.
Now if Namco and SEGA could follow suite with a similar Tekken and VF set.
heck, I'd just like to see sega get off their hands and release all versions of vf on a single blu ray disc. To this day we still don't have good arcade quality conversions of VF2 and VF4
I'd like to see Sega bring back Panzer Dragoon, pull it off rails and make it an open world game.
You ever hear of Panzer Dragoon Saga?
Yeah but I had moved over to Playstation by then. Never got a chance to play it.
Now THAT'S a collection. An xbox game is going to include some blu rays? What world is this?
I loved playing third strike when it was in the arcades. Loved the Alpha series back when it was on the PS1. My favorite on the PS1 was probably Street Fighter EX + Alpha.
That's a really great deal. I honestly want it just for the animated series. I'm assuming it's the one from the 90's that had Guile as the main character. I know there was another series as well that focused on Ken and Ryu but I don't remember what that was called.

I believe its called generations
Ahh thanks. If I remember correctly "Generations" was another movie. I had some time to look it up and the series was called Street Fighter II V. I've only seen a couple of episodes of it. At Comic Con they revealed they were working on a live action tv series for Street Fighter as well. I'm interested in how that will turn out.
At first I was like old news…, until I read this part,
"purchase the PS3 version, you'll receive download codes for all three Street Fighter Alpha games as PS1 Classics. Not enough? How about 175 PlayStation Network avatars? Yeah, 175."
Holly freaking kazoowe! Already preordered it a while back. Huge deal for me seeing I have none of those games. Btw, a huge chunk of the diehard fans actually aren't happy with this one :S
My jaw literally dropped at the amount of stuff they give you for this..Only for $149.99..Some way Some how..this will be mine.
For $149.99 I would prefer that all the games were on disc and not downloaded, so I will pass on this just like RE6 anthology. Sorry Capcom my hard drive space and monthly data cap limit how much downloading I am willing to do on a console.
This is only good for those who don't already own the games.
