But it seems 38 Studios has scored a big hit with their first effort, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning . If you've enjoyed the large, immersive, colorful environment, you're certainly not alone.
According to data given to Rhode Island news station WPRI by the NPD Group and as cited by GamesIndustry.biz , the popular role-playing game has sold 410,000 units in the US to date. Unsurprisingly, the majority of these sales (330,000, in fact) came in the game's first month of availability; the NPD reports 80,000 being sold in March. NPD spokesperson David Riley called the tally "an impressive figure for just two months, no matter how you slice it."
Currently, 38 Studios is working on the MMO Copernicus , which is based in the same world as Amalur . Hopefully, the future is quite bright for this talented team.

I bought it brand new but have yet to play it, as I am trying to knock out some of my backlog. I'm happy to see it is getting good sales numbers though as it looks like it deserves it. This might even have to be my next game to play after I finish Nier, I just want to play it, but I know it'll take up a lot of time, which I really don't mind it just makes it harder to get through my backlog is all.
I bet they will sell a lot more once they make an edition with all dlc included if they make it a 40-50 dollars purchase .
Soon i ll have to rush a bit ( took me like 60 hours to play 1/4 of the game :0 )so i can play those nice looking dlc .
I saw a video of the combat in it and just had to play it. It's the first Western RPG I have ever played. Reminds me of God of War.

Pretty good list I agree with most of it except I thought splinter cell conviction felt less organic and natural than say splinter cell chaos theory. The levels felt like they were just that levels. Although I really liked the story.
Surprised you have Metro on there, thats one of my favourite games but a lot of people complained about the aiming and the difficulty. I thought it had amazing atmosphere though. Can't wait for the sequel.
Alright now I have an idea of what you like. Which is there isn't really a genre you like, it seems you either like a game or don't based on how its resonates with you.
It honestly seemed like every article was you just trolling on how said game sucked. So I was curious what games you actually did like if any 😉
Problem is, just off the top of my head, I KNOW you've complained about ME2, Assassin's Creed, and Modnation Racers. In fact, I remember a drawn out argument you had with Modnation about the computer cheating. You got really mad when someone suggested maybe you just weren't any good at it.
since when does saying the computer cheats mean you hate the game?

Amalur is a prime example of something that isn't great but has tons of potential. Unfortunately it's better at combat than presenting it's RPG-ness. I have trouble caring about anything going on in the world or the NPCs I'm doing missions for.
Hopefully Big Huge Games makes enough off of it to keep working on their world.
