PSXE Poll Update: Most Appreciate Twisted Metal’s Return

Twisted Metal is definitely a great game, and one fans of the franchise should enjoy.

And as it turns out, most of them do. When we asked if people were satisfied with this long-awaited reboot, the majority answered, "Fantastic, I couldn't have asked for more!"

That's good news for developer Eat Sleep Play and Sony, and we're hoping the sales numbers reflect that ardent enthusiasm. David Jaffe was quoted as saying the title needed to sell over a few million copies in order to turn a significant profit. Of course, Jaffe and Eat Sleep Play have parted ways – a surprise to everyone, I think – and the team is looking towards portable, casual gaming. And that seems unfortunate.

While we're on the subject of consumer satisfaction, this week, we ask if you're pleased with the PlayStation Vita. Obviously, we're polling only new customers, but you can vote if you think the Vita has had a positive impact on gaming in general, and you've come away impressed after doing a lot of research. Or, on the flip side, if you think the Vita has come up short.

I voted that it was great. It was still missing some things that Black had that this didn't that detracted from the experience for me (weaker story, not having all characters drive their own vehicles, online connection issues, SP just not as fun as it could have been. I welcome the variations, but it made the experience a bit disjointed).

But when TM is on fire, it's the game I wanted it to be. It has arguably the best multiplayer this generation. It feels like a lot more went into the MP than the SP, but the MP when it works is a first rate masterpiece.

The variation, depth, level design and everything about it is just so much fun.

Good on Jaffe and ESP, hope the game keeps selling well.

Long live the King of Car Combat!

I love my Vita and I feel it is top notch but I also feel it can definitely get better over time as more apps and features become available.

I'm satisfied. The game is fun and it controls great. They should port this to the Vita if they can.

its twisted f*cking metal how can you not be excited for it!?
im sorry, if one of the oldest franchises, one of the best, and one of the VERY few series still exclusive to playstation since the brands creation, does not deserve a bucket load of anticipation then NOTHING does!
its FAR from perfect, but im pretty happy with how it turned out.
so happy to have the car combat genre back!

as for the vita id have to go with ok, but could of been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better!
so many features it should have and does not like the pause ability the GO had, inbuilt memory like the GO had, ability to have multiple games open, ability to have browser and games open.
then theres the stupid restrictions like 1 PSN account per unit, the force to use overpriced memory sticks.
hardware itself could be better too, the buttons are far too small, the shoulder buttons are also too small, feel weird and feel flimsy.
the slots at the back of the device where your suppose to roll your fingers are in a really awkward spot, i find it much more comfortable to just lay my fingers under the bottom of the device.
vita feels like it was rushed!
which is a real surprise because its been such a long time since the PSP came out, and there has been rumours for so long that we were getting a PSP 2 so i really thought this would feel like it was baked for years not months!

i think the perfect comparison for the vita is to compare it to another amazing device $ony just released.
the HMZ-T1.
got mine today from $ony central, and ive gotta say its a AMAZING bit of kit!
works exactly how it should, has taken my breath away and feels really well built!
in other words exactly what the vita SHOULD of been!
and the opposite of what the vita is.

i think the game is decent but i think it has a bevvy of warts. the control seems to have a bit of a lag, the difficulty is very high. i would appreciate a cockpit view with a rear view mirror, i find the camera does not pan back enough to show you who is behind you. the controls are also counter intuitive. the targeting system more often then not gets you killed, i find myself having to go in reverse just to see who to target at.

in my opinion it deserves a 6 out of 10, not an 8.

Well, on the subject of Vita, there aren't enough words to tell you all the good things about it.

I love the thing. It's go so much potential and yet it's already leagues better than my PSP which truly rocked.

I second the motion, Highlander. I bought my 3G Vita two days ago and I am in love with it. Of course I knew of what to expect since I've been closely following it since it was first announced, but it still blew me away when I actually got my hands on it. No regrets buying it at all.

I have yet to purchase my Vita games as I'm still contemplating if I'll go all digital on it (for higher chances of future compatibility) or I'd still buy the physical media since the games are reported to load faster that way. But once that decision is made, I'm sure I'll buy Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Rayman Origins, Wipeout 2048, and Super Stardust Delta. Tomorrow I'll be getting that free copy of Motorstorm RC. How awesome is that?!

Anyway, Sony is doing a good job with the Vita so far. It's a very beautiful handheld and is backed by a strong launch lineup.
