In the past, we've heard Ready at Dawn say they wanted to branch out. Since then, we haven't heard much in the way of updates.
But thanks to a few new job listings (as spotted by Siliconera ), it seems the God of War PSP developer is definitely working on something for "next-generation consoles."
The statement is simple enough- "Ready At Dawn is hiring. We're looking for exceptional candidates to help develop an exciting new IP for a next-generation home console." We also learn the project is a "third-person action adventure game" but beyond that, specifics and details are sparse. The cool part is that whatever it is, it's gotta be big: Ready at Dawn has no less than 16 full-time openings available, and this includes everything from animators to programmers.
With their GoW experience (they also did Daxter for the PSP and Okami for the Wii), this studio should be primed for a larger, more complex project. We can't wait to see what it is…
With all this talk of next-gen development, I wouldn't be surprised to see an unveiling of the new Playstation and Xbox at this year's E3.
I only expect some demos and short videos, with more stuff to show at E3 2013 followed shortly by a late 2013 release.
Wow!! I just did the work of Pachter, now when do I expect my paycheck? 😛
Never with used game sales!
So well probably see another GoW clone? Sounds good to me. They've proved they can do it!
Wait a minute, technically we still call THIS generation "Next-Gen". It probably means PS4 though. While I'm open to a new IP of course, when I read the headline I immediately hoped they would inherit Heavenly Sword II.
$ony should seriously buy these guys out and put them on a vita GOW!
or maybe they already have…….
the PSP games were freaking awesome!
Sounds exciting. So many studios are looking for next-gen artists/programmers… the consoles are almost here. Apparently some dev studios already have 'consoles' for next-gen but in PC form. Just like Xbox is actually a MAC type of a computer down to its core. (Don't remember what my lecturer was saying I think it's down to the chips used or something? Should really find out more)
I'm deffinately not surprised that these games are being developed. Rumours are all over the internet about Sony and Microsoft announcing consoles yet both companies keeping it low. E3 will be interesting. Apparently if Microsoft decide to go ahead and announce their console, so will Sony and vice versa, so don't be surprised if both get announced at the same time. I hope they both decide not to announce it just yet. But next gen games should be awesome but we can wait 🙂
Let's hope they're going to be doing some Vita titles in there somewhere too.
