They kinda already did it with "Death Race," but maybe this will be better.
As some of you may know, the new "Ghost Rider" movie – "Spirit of Vengeance" – will be in movie theaters this week. Why is this relevant? Because Sony Pictures producers Avi and Ari Arad told Deadline (as cited at ComingSoon.net ) that they've signed a 7-figure deal to write and direct a movie based on Twisted Metal .
Unsurprisingly, the film will focus on the core principles of the franchise: a group of sadistic drivers fight with vehicle-mounted weapons, including missiles, machine guns, and other over-the-top firepower. And as the fans will tell you, if characters like Sweet Tooth and Calypso aren't involved, the movie is gonna fail…you have to include the mainstays, damnit! The co-director on the project is Brian Taylor who is indeed involved in the new "Ghost Rider" as well.
Well, they'll make a movie based on just about any popular video game these days. Does this one have a chance?
Related Game(s): Twisted Metal
It better be rated R!

Dear God no!
Honestly, I'd see nothing wrong with that. Can Nic Cage sometimes overact? Sure. He's also starred in a fair amount of duds. But he's easily one of the hardest working, most versatile actors in Hollywood. Have you seen Face/Off? Nic Cage plays crazy good… real good.
Quentin Tarantino – director
and johnny deep somewhere
i wish 😉

if this isnt rated are…I dont see it being too twisted
Man and I was not looking forward to an Uncharted movie. Dont see how they could possible make this good.
Is this what gaffe meant??
It better have a solid story. some characters have decent back stories that can be filled for more depth and character development.
As long as it's better then those Ghost Rider flicks. Of course I never really was a fan of the comic either. But I agree. If the Twisted Metal movie doesn't have Sweet Tooth and/or Calypso, and isn't dark and twisted, then it won't be worth watching. And judging by past game-to-movie adaptations, this will be a dvd rental, if that. Think I'd rather see an anime made of it as then it could get the attention to detail it requires without having to cater to the MPAA.
When TM Black came out, I remember reading an article in OPM about their dream cast for a theoretical movie. Now that it's actually happening, I'd be curious to see how many, if any, of the actors they picked would be in it. I remember thinking some of the choices would be spot-on. I bet I still have that magazine somewhere. Now I won't be able to rest until I find it.
Edit: Well, I found one that has a dream cast for Ico. Other articles of interest: "What Ever Happened to Duke Nukem?" a preview for Kingdom Hearts, and a cover story on MGS2.

I remember that article. They suggested Henry Rollins as Sweet Tooth, Vin Diesel as Calypso and Drew Barrymore as Dollface. I could be wrong, this was over 10 years ago! I can't remember the rest.
sweet!
all i request is that david jaffe foresees everything in the movie!
ive always wanted a TM movie, now its finally happening!
With Brain Taylor at the helm, Sweet Tooth will indeed be tearing $#!+ up. I watched a panel with Taylor at the New York Comic Con and I can tell you that this guy GETS these kind of movies. He was an awesome dude and loves adrenaline and action flicks. He's the perfect choice for this film (even though it's weird that Nevaldine isn't working with him on this one).
No chance at all
LoL wut? What happen to that MGS movie or uncharted movie. or that infamous movie? I dont believe movie adaptations anymoreee
