We love Atlus, but they have to stop doing this.
First, the publisher teases a mystery strategy/RPG that turned out to be Gungnir , and now, they're saying another secret title might be on the way.
On top of which, it might be a good deal bigger than Gungnir . According to Siliconera , Famitsu asked several companies what their plans were for 2012, and Atlus replied-
"That title you’ve been waiting for may be announced."
No, we have no idea what it could be. But we imagine the hardcore role-playing fans are trying to come up with the answer; what do you want most from Atlus? Is it a continuation of an established franchise? Something new that had been hinted at before? The way they phrase that statement, it's like certain fans will easily recognize the title…
Maybe they'll do a follow-up to Catherine . It was a financial and critical success, even if I may not be able to face more blocks.
Persona 5 please! P3&4 were the coolest rpgs I ever played. As a female I did caught up with social status of the characters and sometimes I struggled with the boss fights.
They did say they started work on Persona 5 awhile back 😀 I'd be extremely excited for this!
THIS…I'm quite sure that "FANS" are mainly waiting for Atlus' biggest franchise: PERSONA. Please let it be Persona 5.
It'd be kinda neat if it was exclusive, but hey…as long as they try their best with the PS3, I'm good.
A Catherine sequel would be cool. I just hope they have another game like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls in the pipeline.
^This!!
Catherine yes, Souls I really hope not, i cannot appreciate a game when it's selling point is it's difficulty.
I was referring to Souls. I haven't played Catherine yet. It's my to do list for 2012.
The difficulty is what makes people ignore the selling points. If all you see is a game that is tough, then you aren't seeing the game for what it is.
Ultima that was a big fail, you tube the Souls games to get a hint of why they are always GOTY contenders.

Atlus only published Demon's Souls they were not the developers.
i played demons souls, actually have the game. i'll say it was a great game, just not my type of game. i didnt find it difficult when i played though. it seemed normal to me. i havent beaten it though because i got pretty bored with the game.
Better ask From Software for your Souls games.
A follow up for Catherine would be nice but people have been waiting for a home console Persona.
It has to be Persona 5. A multiplat Persona game is what it will be. Speaking of JRPGS I just bought The Lost Odyssey for $16 at Gamestop. Flat out the best JRPG I have played this gen. I dare say it's an ELITE JRPG. I have already decided that after only spending a few days with it.
Lost Odyssey is the best I've played at the time I thought it would be one of many. I would love it if mistwalker did a sequel. I loved Kaims dreams.
To bad Last Odyssey is only on the 360 🙁 I heard it was a fantastic JRPG.
the 10'000 sales for XIII-2 prove that 360 owners dont appreciate S-E games, if Lost Odyssey was on the PS3 it would have been a platinum title. Its one of ther only 360 games I wish we had.
Honestly, here is my 360 wish list for the PS3:
Alan Wake
Halo
Gears of War
The Lost Odyssey
Bastion
Not into playing games on my PC anymore. Diablo III maybe if it never comes out on the PS3. Hopefully I can play them some day.

Lost Odyssey was made by Mistwalker, who are/were I believe partly funded by MS. They've developed some games on DS, twop on 360 and an iPhone project. But somehow I doubt we'll see them getting involved in a PS3 game, especially as they don't do the development themselves. Development work is outsources, Mistwalker handles the art, story, music, as well as being the overall project 'owner'.
Yeah its too bad LO wasnt released on the PS3 because I certainly would of bought it again.
Mistwalker and AQ The Last Story is for the Wii and will be released next year in europe, Im waiting on U.S. release since Xenoblade has been announced for next year.
@excelsior
damn it man, i was about to pick up lost odyssey to play it. was on my way to the gamestop register. then my bro said he sold his 360. i'm not about to buy a 360 for one game, no matter how much i want to play lost odyssey
When they say "that title you've been waiting for" what automatically springs to mind for me is Persona 5.
According to the newest Atlus email I got a few days ago, this 2nd secret game also starts with the letter "G" too.
Growlancer, perhaps. Which I loved.
Personally, after their last announcement, I just hope it's on PS3.
Just got Catherine after the lady imported it for me as a gift this Xmas….i have to say, EASILY the most forward thinking game in a long while. The plot (aside from the shitty american dialogue they added with the dub) is one of the most intelligent i have seen in game.
I'm playing the game unable to categorise it, unable to label it at all. Asking myself just what is this i am experiencing? Because it's brand new….but at the same time, i am in awe and constantly thinking about the game when at work and on set. Once again, the East marches through with the intelligent and forward thinking ideas.
Has to be top 5 most innovative games of the generation and defiantly was the most innovative of 2011 (LBP2 was expanding an already innovative formula made with the 1st).
As for this….we don't need Catherine 2 at all, but a new game with a similar formula would be welcome.
…..but this is quite simply Persona 5.
I'm hoping for a new 3D Dot Game Heroes, but I know it most likely won't be.
Better ask From Software for that one.
True, but Atlus was the one nice enough to bring overseas for us.
Persona 5 is what we need, I love the Souls games but we just got Dark Souls this year.

Well it's From Software not Atlus :p.
i dont know much about atlus but i trust them more than square enix. when they say its the game fans are waiting for then to me they mean it.
I'm hoping for Persona 5, we really need a persona this gen.
Persona 5 would be cool, or another actual main entry into the Shin Megami Tensei series. I remember hearing that Strange Journey was the official 4th title, but I want to see a big budget SMT game.
I am right there with you. Just make sure it is released for the PS3 as well as any other device.
The only thing that can upset me now is if it is a handheld game, I am tired of missing out on great games because there on a handheld. I know someone will say "well get the handheld" the thing is I own a PSP already and I hate playing games for more than 15 to 20 minutes at a time on it. My main gripe is it kills my neck and eyes, I also am not fond of the control scheme either.
Atlus publishes all sorts of weird stuff. I'm not sure what to expect, but this sounds exciting. A proper new Ogre Battle game would be cool!
why do developers take such joy in dangling string 2 inches out of a cats reach?
its just cruel!
You know seriously…during this whole generation, I'd have to say that SEGA, ATLUS, and Kojima Pro are the 3 *Japanese* DEVELOPERS that have DELIVERED great games and NOT SELL THEMSELVES OUT to the whole "GOOD GAMES=WESTERN STYLE FPS*_*" Theory.
Sega delivered with Yakuza 3 & 4 (though it wasn't reviewed here too well, it was a great game imo). ATLUS with CATHERINE, and Kojima Pro. with MGS 4 & Peace Walker.
Here's a BIG THANKS TO THESE DEVELOPERS.
By the way, in case if you missed it, I'm just comparing these guys to other Japanese developers out there such as Capcom and Square Enix.
