Good news in the inbox today.
Sony has announced that the long-awaited PlayStation Move title, Sorcery , will be released in Spring 2012.
The Nightmare Queen is threatening to toss the world into eternal night, and it's up to a young sorcerer's apprentice to master the arcane arts and fight back. The Move controller allows you to summon and command powerful magic, which will be essential when facing a bunch of demonic enemies. The gameplay will also include puzzles, "countless items to discover and collect," creating potions (aka Alchemy), and overall, there will be eight spells that can be used in a variety of combinations.
Basically, the Move is your wand, and you can chain together spells into stronger combo attacks. "Freeze and shatter your enemies, electrocute them with lightning called down from the heavens, or incinerate them in a lethal firestorm!" Here's the rest of the press release:
DEVELOP YOUR CHARACTER – Collect magic items, learn new spells, and concoct upgrade potions, to turn your humble apprentice into an unstoppable magic force!
A LUSH AND VARIED WORLD – Explore five unique realms, each with their own enemies and challenges. Descend into the kingdom of the dead to battle the Banshee and the Restless Dead warriors, venture into the endless stair where vicious bogies are wreaking havoc, brave the faerie forest, raid the Slumbering Palace to free Lord Fey, the Faerie King, and much more!

I was wondering when this was going to come out.
On a side note, I find it funny people always describe undead or demons as "Restless". Isn't that sort of a per-requisite to being undead? Can't we just assume they are restless? Can't we use an adjective that's far more frightening?
I've was starting to think this game got canceled.
but hey underdog! I love your avatar! Coca Cola > Pepsi!
"Restless" appears to be part of their official name in this case.
Ah, good grammar capitalization spot. They are the "Restless Dead" warriors. As opposed to the "Golden State" warriors.
Coke leaves a rough film on my teeth. Pepsi > Coke.
I like both a lot. I just really like the picture.
Cola's like beer. Different brands have slightly different tastes from one another. In my house right now, I have coke, Pepsi, and a "compliments" brand name cola.

That's funny, Pepsi leaves a film on my teeth. But I only drink Diet so maybe that's the difference.
You should switch to regular. Aspartame is a lot worse for you then soda with sugar in it.
Bout time Sorcery is one of the reasons I brought the move.
same
its WHY i asked for move
mines still in its box unopened (got it for last Xmass)
Indeed. This is the game I have been looking for…
I still fear Sony will change the name to "Playstation Move Sorcery".
Sounds great though. Now let's see some more gameplay footage, Sony. Please don't release this game the same day as Mass Effect 3 or Max Payne 3 without even hyping the game at all. Looks promising so I'd hate to see it release unnoticed.
What in the world took so long? Not that I care about the game, but seriously.
They retooled: they wanted more open environments as well as a more mature/realistic look.
Not to be rude or anything but it seems there are only sorcerers gameplay-wise and story-wise, hence the name, but why didn't they add knights or something like that?… I mean we could use the Move controller to use it as a Sword a la Skyward Sword… :/

you can do that for when that Medeaval Moves game comes out or whatever its called.
@ world the medieval moves game is out already
Doesn't matter to me. If I want to swing a sword I'll play Skyward Sword. I said at the bottom that I hope this is the PS3's Skyward Sword, meaning that I hope it shows off what Move is really capable of(regardless of how it does it)like Skyward Sword did for Wiimotion Plus.
Plus you cannot replicate the sword and shield combat of Skyward Sword with Move. The Navcontroller doesn't have a giro sensor or what ever it is. There is no way to track movement with that Nav unit like the Wii can with the Nunchuck.
It is? I saw it shown at E3 and then never heard of it again.
It's not scoring terribly, but mediocre. Sort of a 7. Which is probably a decent score for a move game.
I bought it, but haven't played it yet.
Pun Intended. 🙂
Here's hoping this is the PS3's Skyward Sword.
No chance. None. At. All.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with World.
Do you plan on doing a preview of the game Ben?
(forgive me if you already have. If you did, I must have missed it.)
I've been waiting for this game, my move has been unused since my kids got board with eyepet.
FINALLY!
was starting to get worried this got canned!
dont really like the new look of it, the trailer shown at E3 had a real dark vibe to it but this feels like a typical kids game!
sigh, $ony you do realise not only kids play with MCs right!?
come on weve had M$ turn into ninty i think thats enough!
