Ben-DutkaNo, it isn't another Gears of War . Like Naughty Dog , Epic Games is looking to try something new.
Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski introduced a trailer for his new project at the Spike TV VGAs tonight. The game is Fornite and instead of the authentic grittiness of Gears , this one has a more colorful (if not playful) style, and a focus on survival and exploration.
At the start, a cameraman follows a group of survivors as they attempt to locate building materials for a fort. Later that night, all hell breaks loose and…well, we can guess at the gameplay. We're still not sure about platforms or a release date, but Bulletstorm was multiplatform, so we're hoping it'll come to the PlayStation 3.

not really feeling it yet with this one. I was hoping for something more epic from Epic.

Looks decidedly 'meh' to me. Not sure why… I'm just not vibing with it at all.
Didn't really grab me. Looks like a fun little shooter, perhaps a PSN or Live title, but I can't help but feel this is like Monday Night Combat, fun at first but you get over it pretty quick and move on.
It looks like Minecraft HD.
Don't get why no one likes this. I've kind of been waiting for something that's going to be like, scavenge materials, build defenses and shoot whatever comes to your fort. Assuming online/offline co-op, it would be lots of fun. Assuming that's what this will be like.

Although this isn't something I'd expect from Epic, I still think it looks to wind up being a whole lots-of-fun.
I just hope it's going to be on disc & not just a D/L only title.

The animations and artwork looked funny enough. But damn, not more zombies. Not now. Not for a while.
I don't really like the artwork on this one, but it's kind of hard to judge this after seeing the trailer for The Last Of Us…
It looks really uninteresting.
I'm not writing this off yet, but it certainly doesn't look all that great after seeing the trailer for The Last of Us.
And to be honest, this looks like a download-only title. I really don't think they're gonna put this on a disc.
I like the concept but, I don't know what to think about the trailer.
The funny thing is the same ppls on other forums who bash The Last of Us a "another zombie game." Have nothing but praise for this "zombie game." Even though TLoU has no zombies. >.>
Looks cartoonish, doesn't really grab my attention.
Hmmm.. Using tools at your disposal, destroy things around you including the environment and collect stuff to build a shelter to protect yourself from enemies during the night, all within a game with graphics that aren't too serious. I feel like that's been done before..
All kidding aside, this actually might be a fun game. Reminds me of borderlands a little.
