while Uncharted 3 is awesome in many ways, I have to say I am slightly disappointed by its relatively less intricate story and slightly dull indoor environment comparing to Uncharted 2's massive and diversified outdoor environment and more diversified game play.
please note – to say this is not to say the Uncharted 3 is not a leading GOTY contender of 2011.

UC3 is great, but in no way it is better then Batman Arkham City. Best game 2011, hands down.
bjorn, i respectfully disagree. While batman is a great game nothing compares to the complete package of uncharted. Blows my mind how they make such a good single player campaign and some of the best multiplayer around.
Well in my humble opinion, the UC3 package is absolutely great and without a doubt top notch quality. However the package is too small…. After the credits rolled it was over, I played the "crushing" again, but the "surprise" was gone… so after finishing that… there was nothing left do anymore. (I am not into the multiplayer, did it to get the 2 throphies but MP is not my cup of tea)
The Batman dish however may not be as polished as UC3… But I am playing it over and over again. There is so much to do. I played it 2 weeks up to UC3, played UC3 for about 1 week, finished it, and am currently playing Batman again for over 3 or 4 weeks.
So for me hands down game of the year.
sweet but like the collectors edition of uncharted 3, i'll pass. the game was enough for me. too bad i dont really play the online of uncharted 3 anymore. i really dont like the faster pace and everyone doing that stupid steel fist technique. i miss the uncharted 2 multiplayer where people actually hid and there was strategy. now its just everyone running around, hipfiring.
Well people were still firing from the hip in U2. It's just in U3 with the Kal people would shoot from the hip and be able to turn and maintain vision. Which they fixed via the last update.
Actually, there's hardly anyone using KAL thanks to the update, now everyone's using the FAL 😛
it wasnt as apparent in uncharted 2 because of the map design. in uncharted 3, most of the maps are so enclosed that it calls for hip firing.
