Past Characters Playable In Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time

With so many great PlayStation 3 exclusives already available, it might be easy to miss the upcoming Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time .

But we believe that'd be a colossal mistake. We learn a bit more about the return of the sneaky raccoon at the PlayStation Blog , where Sanzaru Games President Glen Egan also introduces Ninja Master Roichi Cooper.

In Thieves in Time , you will be able to travel back in time and meet your Cooper clan ancestors. But on top of that, you'll have the opportunity to play as those characters, too! Each episode in the game will boast a new member of the Cooper clan with his own "unique and powerful abilities that opens up a whole new range of gameplay in the huge environments." Time to experiment with new skills!

And the first ancestor they're displaying is Roichi Cooper, the master of the Ninja Spire Landing. He first appeared in Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus and now, you'll get a chance to test out the master's techniques. This includes the Leaping Dragon technique, which lets him "span great distances between spires." Oh, and Roichi is also the inventor of sushi, and he uses his famous restaurant as a hideout and HQ.

As time goes on, we'll hear more about Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time , and we can't wait for it to arrive. This is one franchise that definitely deserved a new title for the PS3 generation!

Never played one game in the series and IMO I don't think this game will do too well sales wise. An early 2012 release would been better

You've missed out. The original Sly Cooper was one of the most thoroughly innovative, stylish and creative platformers from last generation, and the other two games aren't too shabby, either. Pick up that HD collection!!

If you ask me, I think Sly 4 would be an excellent starting point for Sony to begin lowering the prices on their first/second-party titles, like they did on PS2. As much as I love Sly Cooper, I can't see myself paying $60 for this.

I'll have to get the HD collection on the cheap at some point.

i was lucky enough to win the HD collection at a Sony "party" because one of my friends is a sales rep and invited me along. I must say tho, Sly is definately in my top 5 favourite characters.:)

im getting really worried about this.
allot of games have done the time travel gimmick and they have all turned out pretty crap!
i dunno, just really does not fill me with confidence.
just feels like it does not fit the series.
if sanarzu screw this up there going to have a hell of a army of flaming pitchforks to answer to!

I'm completely confident in Sanzaru Games. Sucker Punch is helping them along and Sanzaru is *really* excited about this, not just another developer Sony licensed the franchise to.

Can't wait. Everything I've seen looks amazing. I already pre-ordered and paid $60 in full already, guys. Now let's see if you've earned it.
