Well, special effects are the name of the game in Hollywood these days, and this game is a perfect vehicle for over-the-top effects, right?
I mean, assuming you can look past the apparently obvious fact that the film won't be a fraction as artistic and innovative as Team ICO's masterpiece.
According to Deadline , the feature film adaptation – previously shelved – is back on track, as it now has a new director in Josh Trank and a producer in Kevin Misher.
Trank recently directed this year's "Chronicle," and he's also working on "two new movies based on Marvel characters, one for the Fantastic Four and another based on Spider-Man antihero Venom." Misher previously produced "The Scorpion King" and its sequels, as well as "Public Enemies" and "Mirror Mirror." Gamers everywhere are hoping these guys gives one of the industry's most accomplished and memorable productions its just due. It'll be tough but hey, let's try to be optimistic.

i'm sure they will have great special effects.but music should be done by Kow Otani for the battles to be Epic.and wander should not speak english.

This will not end well…I think we all know this.
Doesn't sound like it's starting well either.
I bet when the colossi die, there will be lots of explosions and Wander will say in a raspy voice: "Now I'll be home in time for dinner."
Here's the story thus far:
Wander is desperately trying to bring his loved one back to life, but the US government wants to procure the power of the colossi for themselves. CIA agents will be following his trail wherever he goes. Once these CMDs (Colossi of Mass Destruction) have been procured, the US wants to use them to secure their position as a superpower. Wander must make a tough decision: save his girl but forsake his country (of course he's American), or remain a patriot and bend to the whims of the CIA.
One of the CIA agents (a woman) begins to fall in love with Wander as she sees his dedication to raising his girl back from the dead. She wants that kind of love for herself because her life has been so busy dedicated to the CIA, and she hasn't experienced much love. Wander's decisions get harder and harder, until he must ultimately make a choice to determine the fate of not only his love, but the rest of the world….

Hot on the heels of Ben's recent article about video games and movies… I really hope this doesn't help to illustrate your point Ben.
Please oh please, if this movie happens let it buck the trend and be the epic adventure it ought to be.
"Hot on the heels of Ben's recent article about video games and movies… I really hope this doesn't help to illustrate your point Ben."
Sadly, it almost inevitably will.
Brace yourselves…
Well said.
I had no idea. Though apparently there were "hints" of Fumito Ueda being invloved… Hmmm.
Sounds like a great blockbuster rental
o.O I'm lost for words. And that doesn't happen very often… Just no.
Well, this is a bit more encouraging than the last time, when it was being written by the same person who did "Legend of Chun Li."
"Chronicle" was one of the most interesting superhero origin stories I've seen in a long time, so at least the guy isn't a total putz, and he was actually seeking out this project because he's a bonafide fan of the game. It might be…decent? Maybe..?
oh the irony!
is $ony trying to tell you something?
aaaaaaaaaaaanyway, all ill say is lets hope this does not have the same lengthy ride as the last guardian has had!
the day we see that is the day we see pigs flying backwards while reciting the national anthem!
This game isn't that relevant anymore, I'd be surprised if they are making a movie about it.
hollywood treatment will turn this into a pile of poop faster than you say "hold that"
make it like a cult classic, get the same composer, keep it grey and gloomy, and minimal dialogues, i'm sure it will be well remembered
