LEGO Batman PS2 Bundle Available

The PS2 is looking more and more attractive these days, what with a nice low price tag and an absolutely immense library. Even so, Sony likes to give us more incentive every once in a while, and this new one is extra family friendly.

It's the LEGO Batman PS2 Limited Edition bundle, available now at all major retailers for $149.99. Travellers Tales always presents us with rock solid LEGO-based titles, and all of them are great fun for both one and two players. This package includes a standard black PS2, one Dual Shock 2 controller, LEGO Batman: The Videogame , and a special "Justice League: The New Frontier" DVD. According to the official PlayStation blog, this bundle is indeed "limited," as once the initial supply is drained, you won't be seeing them again. Therefore, if you're looking for an early Christmas present for the kids, or you're a fan of the LEGO games and have been looking for an excuse to pick up the PS2 again (or for the first time, ya slacker), this is a great option. We expect more PS2 bundles for the holidays, and we're also hoping for a price drop to $99. What with the new PS2 model coming out with the same $129.99 price tag, we'd like to assume the old model enjoys a price cut…

As a side note, stay tuned for our LEGO Batman: The Videogame PlayStation 3 review, which isn't far off. Oddly enough, while most games based on movies have been awful in the past, the LEGO games have almost always been good. No exaggeration or sarcasm there at all.

Some people still can't afford to pick up one of the next gen systems, so it's only logical that they would go for a system that's within their budget. And with the economy in the decline that it is right now, you can't blame people for trying to save money in any way they can. And as already mentioned, look at the library that is available to that system. And what better way to pick up what is sure to be a pretty cool game. And the movie was pretty good as well. Kudos to Sony for a nice package.

Yeah the PS2 seriously needs to end. It died, and so people need to move onto better things. But if zillions of people are still buying the system then I understand why Sony is still selling the thing. Seriously though, the only way I would touch my PS2 again with a 10 foot pole would be if GoW3 came out on it, but that's it! lol

Why is their so much hate for the PS2. Did the PS2 not give you many years of entertainment. Is it not the best selling game console of all time. I'm quite satisfied that Sony is still supporting this console for the 10 year life cycle as they promised. I actually hope they continue to support it long enough so that it would be a little less difficult for less fortunate loyal fanbase to transition from PS2 to the PS3. I look at it this this way, if Sony stops supporting the PS2 and the PS3 is still is at the price range that it is currently at then the lower class and lower middle middle class family's would not be able to afford the PS3 and would opt for the more affordable Microsoft XBox 360. Sony would not want that and I sure many of the people on this forum would not want this either. I just have to say "Sony keep up the good work."
