Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2 Golden

Electronic Arts loves letting everyone know when its games have "gone gold." This time, their note says something about an aussie tiger, platform style play, and giant robots.

Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue will ship to North American retail outlets on Tuesday, October 12, and to Europe at the end of the month, under a co-publishing deal between EA Games and Krome Studios (the game's developer).

Ty 2 is the sequel to the first Ty the Tasmanian Tiger (no way!), which sold more than one million units after being released in fall 2003. This new game picks up where the original left off, but in a bigger and more entertaining manner, as players now have the opportunity to experience and explore "down under" by navigating through the new, wide open 3-D environment by foot and vehicle while interacting with a cast of more than 100+ indigenous characters. Fans can enjoy a wide variety of play styles, including platform jumping, boomerang weapons, "Mech units" with special powers, and off-road driving, as well as including 2-player multiplayer cart racing.

The Ty property will expand into the world of animation in 2005 thanks to a deal struck with Film Roman, a leading animation company known for the hit shows The Simpsons and King of the Hill.
