Media Create Units Sold July 12-18 2004

Japanese tracking firm Media Create has release its sales numbers (units sold) for the previous week (July 12 through July 18).

The list really doesn't have much context for those of us in the west, but there are still a couple useful tidbits to gain from it.

Most obvious–the Japanese can't stand the Xbox. It sold 272 units last week, whereas more than 37,000 PS2's were sold. Check out the combined GBA+GBA SP numbers and compare them to the total PS2 numbers. People in Japan love GBA just as much as they love PS2, and isn't that the way the world should be? (Frank's GBA bias shows!)

And finally, the Japanese love baseball and soccer games that we'll never, ever get a chance to see released over here.
