The Last Of Us: Remastered Free With Your PS4 Purchase

If you don't yet own a PlayStation 4, here's a fresh incentive.

As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , Sony is now selling the PlayStation 4 with a copy of The Last Of Us: Remastered . The console price is the same ($400) so the game is free.

The deal will be available at retailers "over the next few days" in North America and it's very attractive. Not only should the PS4 really come into its own in 2015 but The Last Of Us: Remastered is just an amazing update of an already amazing game. If, however, you're not interested in that game, you can still participate in the "Four Games, One Pick" promotion, which gives you the option of Destiny , Far Cry 4 , LittleBigPlanet 3 , or NBA 2K15 .

You'll be sorry if you don't own a PS4 this year!

Naughty Dog Split On 60FPS vs. 30FPS Gameplay Issue?

When The Last Of Us: Remastered hits store shelves next month, it'll boast an upgraded 60 frames per second.

One might assume this is a 100 percent positive, right? Well, maybe not. Uncharted 4 lead game designer Kurt Mugenau certainly loves the upgrade, as he said on Twitter :

"Played some #TLOU at 60 fps tonight for the first time (60fps cutscenes and all). Transformitive. I’m a believer. Don’t think I can go back."

Dynamics artist Neilan Naicker added that now he "can't play it any other way," referring to the game's multiplayer. But what about the single-player – and more cinematic – experience? 3D environment artist Anthony Vaccaro said in fact, he prefers the slower FPS rating :

"MP [multiplayer] I totally agree with 60 but single player I still prefer 30, feels more cinematic to me. Might be in the minority."

What do you think? Might the higher frame rate negatively impact the cinematic nature of the game? Is it possible that a higher FPS count isn't always better all the time?

More Evidence For The Last Of Us On PS4

Last week, rumors regarding a PlayStation 4 iteration of The Last Of Us spread across the Internet.

For instance, it seems a Sony representative leaked the information to a European website. Now, we've got more evidence:

Check out Spanish retailer XtraLife . As you can see, they're letting customers pre-order a PS4 version of Naughty Dog's masterful title. It's called the "Complete Edition" and it comes with the recently released Left Behind DLC and a cool backpack, too! We may not get that backpack, but it's still a pretty solid indication, wouldn't you say?

And remember, PlayStation Turkey VP Sercan Sulun said the PS4 version of TLoU would be available physically and digitally, so you can grab it either way. Now all we need is for Sony to officially confirm this bad boy's existence!

Rumor: The Last Of Us Coming To PS4

It's not the first time we've heard this rumor.

Even though the source is technically a Sony representative (PlayStation Turkey VP Sercan Sulun, speaking to Turkish CNN website Multiplayer ), we're still calling it a rumor. Sony hasn't officially confirmed this with a press release and as usual, translations can be iffy.

This particular translation was first spotted on NeoGAF : Evidently, The Last Of Us will launch on the PlayStation 4 as both a physical and digital release:

"Sequel is not coming right now as far as I know, but I can say that [the] first game will be released this summer for PS4 as a physical and digital copy with enhanced graphics," in response to a question about a potential The Last of Us sequel."

The other rumor is that TLoU will be a PlayStation Now title, meaning gamers can also rent the award-winning adventure from Naughty Dog. Bear in mind that Sony executives have been wrong before, and translations are often wonky as well. It's hardly a foregone conclusion that this game is coming to the PS4 but if it does, will you be psyched…?
