Horror Icon Jason Enters The MKX Fray

We got Freddy Krueger before; may as well add the other iconic villain from the '80s.

Another playable fighter has been revealed for the upcoming Mortal Kombat X and it's none other than Jason Voorhees, otherwise known as Jason from the "Friday the 13th" horror movie sequels (for the uninitiated, Jason's mother, Mrs. Voorhees, was the killer in the original film).

Developer NetherRealm posted up a teaser video featuring Jason and even through we don't get any gameplay, we know he'll have special moves and Fatalities, just like all the other characters in MKX. Jason will be one of four expansion characters included in the Kombat Pack, which will feature "Klassic Kombatants" and iconic guest characters. Who else might we see…?

Mortal Kombat X will launch on April 14 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, in development at High Voltage, has been pushed back to summer .

Kung Lao Joins Mortal Kombat X, Factions Mode Revealed

Another fan favorite will return to the Mortal Kombat universe!

Thanks to a cover story in Games Master magazine in the UK (as cited by GameSpot ), we've learned that Kung Lao will be included in the upcoming NetherRealm title.

The dude who can use his hat as a nasty weapon will have three unique combat variations: Buzz Saw suits an aggressive style; Tempest is more defensive and is about maintaining control of the stage, and Hat Trick lets Kung Lao toss his hat, where it will hover in place until its owner calls it back.

On top of which, the developer announced the brand new Factions Mode, which lets players choose one of five factions when fighting online. Each character is home to a particular faction, so make your decision wisely!

I used to love using Kung Lao. He had the only 7-hit combo in Trilogy that I could actually pull off with relative ease (Square, X, Square, X, Circle, Circle, Triangle). 🙂
