Stardew Valley Console Multiplayer Is Still Happening

Stardew Valley

A while back Stardew Valley creator, Eric Barone AKA ConcernedApe, noted that there would be multiplayer for console gamers. But, that was last year. Little has truly come of it in recent months. But, now we have a glimmer of hope as the developer tweeted that the multiplayer is still happening and there are only a few fixes to go.

In the same announcement tweet, he also urged everyone to ask questions about the game if they have any.

Ever since Barone went solo, and without Chucklefish aiding in the game’s progression on most of the game ports, he hasn’t been too frequent with updates on the blog. The last post on the Stardew Valley blog was all the way back on January 2, 2019.

Stardew Valley is available on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, Android, and iOS.

Stardew Valley is Going to be Self-Published

Some may remember our coverage of Stardew Valley coming to the PS Vita. Now, it’s back in the news as ConcernedApe announced that he plans to self-publish most of his game versions. Announced via Stardew Valley’s website, the PC, Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita ports will be self-published. However, the former publisher, Chucklefish, will continue publishing and distributing the Switch and mobile ports.

But I’m at a point now where I’m ready to move forward on my own. I think self-publishing is the end-goal of most indie developers, and I’m happy to be in a place where that’s possible!

The decision of self-publishing wasn’t for any reason other than just wishing to move forward on his own. He thanked Chucklefish for overseeing the distribution, translations, and even adding some networking code to add multiplayer. They also created the official wiki and worked with ConcernedApe to redesign the Stardew Valley website.

ConcernedApe also told people to keep an eye out for new Stardew Valley news in the future.

What do you think of this news? Is Stardew Valley going to suffer from its lack of a standalone publisher? Is it going to flourish without one?

Stardew Valley is Coming to the PlayStation Vita

Stardew Valley

If you are a fan of Stardew Valley but don’t like the limited mobility that comes with playing it on the PS4, you’re in luck as you will soon be able to play it on the go. As announced by the developer yesterday, Stardew Valley will be coming to the PlayStation Vita.

One thing to keep in mind is that Stardew Valley’s Vita release will be exclusively a single player experience, but that’s the way that many people would suggest you play it, anyway. The game will also be cross-buy, which means if you own it on the PS4, you will not have to buy it for the Vita.

Stardew Valley on the PlayStation Vita will come out May 22.
