New Bloodborne Patch Gives You A Shot At More Blood Rocks

You just can't stop playing Bloodborne , huh? It's that good.

Then you might be interested in a new update for the PlayStation 4 exclusive; you can find the full patch notes at the game's official website .

Yes, it's in Japanese but thankfully, Polygon was nice enough to translate. And we find that this update brings one very cool new addition.

The 1.09 patch now lets you acquire those super rare Blood Rocks from the game's Insight Shop, which should make things a lot easier. Of course, there are a couple catches: Firstly, the Rocks obviously aren't cheap (you have to trade in 60 Insight), and the items in question will only be available after players have reached a certain point in the main story.

Prior to this update, you could get only one Blood Rock per full play-through, and you could get a second by playing the recent Old Hunters expansion . For the full patch notes, click here .

Bloodborne Update Adds New Covenant And NPC Partners

Update: The English details are now on the PlayStation Blog.

Original Story:

It's not uncommon for a big patch to precede a piece of downloadable content or expansion.

A new update for Bloodborne has been released in preparation for the upcoming add-on, The Old Hunters, which lands on November 24.

Official patch notes haven't been released in English but a few dedicated fans have done some translating at the Bloodborne sub-Reddit page . A post on the Japanese PlayStation Blog says the update comes in at a whopping 9.37GB and introduces a fresh Covenant called The Federation. In the English version of the game, it'll likely be called The League, as previously announced. This feature actually isn't tied to the impending expansion and will be available for all players.

Additionally, the patch adds NPC co-op partners and an ancient summoning bell, which lets you bring these new NPC buddies into Chalice Dungeons. Speaking of Chalice Dungeons, they've been altered so that non-root dungeons have a glyph that creates chances for more co-op and player vs. player gameplay.

The Old Hunters is one of the more anticipated expansions of 2015; we can already hear the loyal fans drooling.

Bloodborne Patch Drops, Offers Several Appreciated Changes

Developer From Software continues to work to make Bloodborne an even better experience.

A new patch is now available to download and perhaps tops on the fix list is the big alteration to multiplayer.

As players have discovered at Reddit , patch 1.04 removes the need to be within a certain number of levels for two people to go adventuring together. However, it's important to remember that this change only applies to matches with password matching. If you try to find other players randomly online, you'll still need to be within about 10 levels of each other.

The patch also features "improved game balance" and "various bug fixes," and an increase in the number of Blood Vials and Quicksilver bullets you can hold in storage (you'll know be able to store 600 of each). A couple of the balance tweaks involves reducing the Stamina required for the Kirkhammer and decreasing the number of Quicksilver Bullets you need to use certain items.

Yep, Bloodborne just keeps getting better and better.

Bloodborne Patch Fixes Bugs, Exploits

Game-breaking bugs can really ruin your day.

But thankfully, Bloodborne players no longer have to worry about one such glitch.

A new patch for the critically acclaimed action/RPG has arrived and developer From Software says version 1.02 repairs a potentially serious bug. This problem would happen if a player went online as a cooperative guest or hostile invader by using either of the Resonant Bell items in the Forbidden Woods. Afterward, that player wouldn't be able to get the Lunariam Key, which means he or she wouldn't be able to face down the next area's boss. They also wouldn't have access to Master Willem or the Moonside Lake.

The patch also fixes an item duplication exploit and a few other annoying bugs. Yep, one of the best games of the new generation just got better…apologies to all those who wanted to cheat with that item duplication exploit.
