EA Outlines Game-Changing Innovations Featured In FIFA 14

Soccer fans got what they wanted today: Proof that FIFA 14 will boast all sorts of improvements, great upgrades and enhancements.

EA has announced fresh innovations for the award-winning franchise, which will introduce new features that "inspire fans to build play through midfield, dictate the tempo of a match and create rewarding opportunities."

The first example of this is Pure Shot, which is a brand new physics system that will transform shooting, as every shot attempt will feel realistic and when you connect with the perfect strike, you'll know it. Real Ball Physics are part of this, but that new tech will also contribute to authentic ball trajectories, and will enable new shot types (rushed shots and off-balance kicks among them) to look and feel even more real. Protect The Ball will let you fend off and block defenders while dribbling at any speed, and Teammate Intelligence has been improved. Lastly, Sprint Dribble Turns allow players to turn in every direction at top speed while preserving momentum.

Said FIFA 14 executive producer David Rutter:

"FIFA 14 will play the way great matches are contested with build up through midfield, tension throughout the match as chances are created, and incredible finishing. Opportunities in FIFA 14 will be rewarding and great goals will look stunning."

FIFA 14 should be on store shelves some time later this year.

Well Primo, Brazilian here… like the "only nation" who has been to every single Worldcup, has made the final rounds every single time, has never lost a Worldcup qualifying match at home, was the first to win it 3 times, 4 times and the only one who is 5 times world champions…
That said Mexico is the team of my heart after Brazil, so I was happy to see them win the gold medal in the Olympics, and will be very happy to see them join the Worldcup Champions rooster soon, hopefully in Brazil if my home team still stinks as bad as it does now LOL

I think there are sufficient updates to each subsequent FIFA game. At least, the last 4 entries had more variety than the CoD games anyway.

Here in Pakistan, FIFA is the most popular franchise. People love their FIFA.

It is the same in Zambia. People here love three things: alcohol, women and football.
By default, I always get a FIFA and PES title every year. That said, I am not particularly interested in FIFA 14, but more so in FIFA 16, when the PS4 would have been mastered.

The evidence is in the difference between, say FIFA 10 and FIFA 13… same system, same dev, different experience… those titles are world's apart.
That's why FIFA 14 does not interest me so much. However, later instalments do because devs would have mastered and truly innovated new gaming mechanics.
