It's yet another promising title for the PlayStation Vita, and after last year's successful reboot on the PS3, we're convinced NetherRealm Studios can deliver.
Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that Mortal Kombat will come to Sony's new portable device in Spring 2012. At the helm is the aforementioned NetherRealm team, and the press release says MK for the Vita "delivers an experience designed specifically for on-the-go gaming with brand new gameplay features and content developed exclusively for the new handheld device."
Said NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon:
"The NetherRealm team is committed to making sure that we follow up the success of 2011’s Mortal Kombat with an equally compelling experience on the PlayStation Vita. The original game content and new features we developed for the PlayStation Vita will provide gamers with the best fighting game experience available on the new mobile platform."
Mortal Kombat sold over 3 million units worldwide last year, and received the Spike TV Video Game Award for Best Fighting Game. It also got our award in the same category. As for the Vita version, you can expect all new features that have been developed exclusively for the handheld; they'll be releasing information on those "in the coming months."
