There are many who believe the PlayStation Vita won't last much longer.
However, despite the glaring lack of AAA support, Sony still believes the handheld is well worth playing.
During a recent GameReactor interview with Sony President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida, he admitted their first-party focus is now on PlayStation 4 titles, but he still says "there's no shortage of great Vita games coming out from great indies, like Volume or Super Time Force Ultra ."
Added Yoshida:
"People love it. I love it, the way I can play the games on Vita on the go, because I travel a lot. I've been playing Shovel Knight, and that's awesome, but I can continue my play at home on PS4 as well. So we continue to support these efforts, and some Japanese publishers are announcing new exciting titles as well, like you saw the World of Final Fantasy announced by Square-Enix, that will come on PS Vita as well.
So I think PS Vita will continue to be a great platform to play games, and there will continue to be great games coming out on the system as well."
Yeah, well, that still doesn't tell us how the Vita is performing. Not well, of course. And if there are no Vita exclusives to showcase the power of the machine, and all it has are titles that can also be played on other platforms like PS4, then the future might not be very bright.
Even so, I'm keeping mine.
I love the hardware, but I'm going to stick with my PSP until the Vita actually gets some games.
If Sony thinks they're doing a good job with the Vita, they're delusional.
You should try Uncharted golden abyss, it's a great game IMO, and I think it's underrated too…
Bio, you know it's 2015 mate, lol. Didn't you say this nearly 3 years ago… haha :-p
Seriously though it has some amazing games, but I fear if you're not happy with what it has now then you never will be if Sony have haulted AAA game production for it.
Still, there always the PSV2.. I assume.

I have more games than I did with my PSP 2.5-3 years into the Vita life cycle. I have already amassed 3x the games compared to my whole PSP library… What is this no games you speak of?

Dillon, I probably did, and it's still true. I'm sure I'll get a Vita when they're super cheap, if only to play Borderlands 2 on the go, despite the fact that from all accounts it's a seriously subpar port.
I think the problem for me is that a lot of the games that people rave about on Vita are indie games that came to PC either before Vita, at the same time or shortly thereafter, so I've either already played them (Guacamelee, Hotline Miami, etc.) or have no interest in them (Spelunky).
About the only way I'd have picked up a Vita by now is if Kojima had made a Vita exclusive MGS game. That is now forever beyond the realm of possibility.
Fareez – I'm not spending $170 to play Uncharted Lite. If I get a hankering for Uncharted again, I'll replay Uncharted 2.
SayWord – I guess the platform's library just appeals more to you than it does to me.
Same with Bio, can't cough out the cash of a Vita to warrant me playing enough with it.. My android device is giving me the pleasure already.
Yeah I get a ridiculous amount of gaming value out of my Galaxy Tab, far more than my PSP. Rayman Fiest Run is basically better than anything I'm going to find on PSP or Vita, and I got it for free thanks to Amazon's App of the Day feature.
I love my vita, but seriously I want more AAA vita game, indie games is not why I bought vita, although some of those indie game was okay…
Definitely keeping my Launch Vita for the foreseeable future.
The lack of games has me playing Borderlands 2 over and over again though.
Netflix is also my favorite thing on the Vita. I would really like an update to that since I could really use the profile switch feature.
The remote play feature alone is worth keeping imo. Nothing serious but I can do some side quests or crafting in the Witcher 3 or ESO while I step away from my main setup. Bathroom, away from home even as long as there is wifi.
I'm not saying the Vita should only be bought or kept on that alone. Of course you need good software for the hardware for its primary function. On the go gaming!
Side note: I'll never play a smart phone game as long as I have a Vita 🙂
I don't like how Sony abandoned the platform with zero AAA productions. Not even one per year. Tearaway was the last great game from Sony on the system, sadly.
Besides that I still really like my Vita, even just for it's strong library of past PS games, both PSX, PSP, and the few Vita games. I do occasionally find a newer indie game to play on it though.

I know right? My Vita is mostly used as a central hub for all my PS1 and PSP games.
Yea, and they look and feel so much nicer on a Vita compared to the PSP's now hidieous screen. PSP has resolution so low you're eyes can get lost in the gaps between pixels.
also occasional I really benefit from remote play. Though some games control like crap that way.
Yea I haven't found a game that plays as nice on the Vita as it does with the dual shock. Most aren't terrible but it's not the same.
Ps plus drivers club edition is up. Didn't know where else to post this. Please excuse my old. And just to keep things relevant, poor vita. Poor poor vita.
Well I do flippin' love it. God damn it give us a little more for the people with loads more time. I've got enough the way it's been going.
i think it'll be okay not just cos i got one but cos its more a niche market now i think and i think i will stay that way so it is what it is.
happy gaming
