This is the update you need if you want to access your PlayStation 4 with Sony's super slick new portable.
Sony has announced the latest system software update for the PlayStation Vita. It's update 3.00 and adds a new application entitled PS4 Link, which allows Vita owners to connect to the PS4 console to access the Remote Play and Second Screen features.
The update also delivers fresh settings for photo taking, the ability to connect the Vita to the PS3 via Wi-Fi, and user interface changes to certain applications. We're not sure yet when the update will officially go live, but you have to expect it'll be soon. The PS4 is slated to launch on November 15 – that's next Friday – in North America, and on November 29 in Europe. It's really cool how one can use the Vita to interact with the PS3 and PS4, and it's a highlight of being a Vita owner.
Now, if it just had more exclusive software…
It also fixes the notorious "preparing to download" issue many Vita owners have been plagued by. No more hard resets.
yeah well i'm looking forward to these features when i get my PS4 and hopefully vita.
happy gaming =)
A welcome update. Can't wait to link up to the 4. Only 9 days!
I've never once regretted my Vita purchase. There have always been enough games. I don't think it was ever about how many games Vita has but more about the Vita NOT having the games or franchises people want or are expecting. In due time I am sure the Vita will have what many are looking for. Hopefully the Slim model will make it to the states along with competitive pricing on the Memory cards.
While I'm not going to be getting the PS4 till next year, I did just pick up a Vita….finally!
And yeah…I can see what people mean when they say it has no games (even if it is an exaggeration…)
In comparison to the 3DS, the library isn't as impressive.
Nevertheless, I'm still having fun downloading a whole bunch of titles I got for free from PS +, and all these PSP and PS1 titles I didn't get a chance to play…
However, that won't appeal to everyone, and it's obvious the Vita needs some more exclusive titles to really come into its own.
Still looking forward to getting my PS4 eventually 🙂
