Tower Defense Fans Get Fieldrunners 2 On Vita This Summer

If you're a tower defense fan, there's a new game you're gonna want for the PlayStation Vita this summer.

It's Fieldrunners 2 , "the king of tower defense," and Subatomic Studios has posted up all the pertinent details over at the PlayStation Blog .

This is a follow-up to Fieldrunners , which launched for the PSP in 2009. The reception for that game was solid so the developers opted to bring you a sequel for Sony's new portable. The goal was to "make everything bigger and better, while still respecting our fans as tower defense connoisseurs." They're giving us a new engine, which will let every enemy carve a unique path through the battlefield. That should definitely add a very dynamic element to the gameplay, don't you think?

There are over 25 devious new towers, including ones that throw beehives at oncoming foes. Then there are towers that utilize flaming Jack O'Lanters, infectious syringes, and even towers that turn enemies into cows! Looks like tons o' fun, so ready your defenses!
