Don't be scared. It's okay.
…seems to be the somewhat ironic theme of the upcoming Corpse Party: Book of Shadows , which was just officially revealed over at the PlayStation Blog . It'll hit the North American PSN next week on January 15 (with a European release "shortly thereafter") and hold a price tag of $19.99.
XSEED Localization Specialist Tom Lipschultz says it has been a "long journey" getting the game to come out, and he leads you through a brief introduction to each chapter of the game. He also clarifies that each chapter "is its own standalone story," so it's probably worth previewing each one. Click through the link above to learn more and if that's not enough, feel free to visit the the game's creepy website . Also, don't forget that this is for the PSP or Vita, so it'll be like handheld horror on the go. Just don't scream out loud on the bus.

I wonder if a demo will arrive with the release. I'm curious, but I don't want to jump into this completely blind…
just play the original :p but basically all the game is is a 2d horror "rpg" without action.. is more like a visual novel.. theres story, with cutscenes and dialogue, you can walk around, explore, talk to npc, interact with things (bookshelves etc etc) but theres no a single battle in the games.. so if youre lookin for random battles (or any battles) look elsewhere
XD
…yeah, I guess I should do that.
I'm down for all kinds of games (or psudo-games for that matter) as long as they're done well.
edit/ thanks for the info!

Want! America never gets visual novels.
Wait, a visual novel is getting out of Japan?
Wish there would be more in the future!!!
umm i can name plenty of US released visual novels including Corpse Party 1, Narutoki (i know i spelled that wrong) and disgaea.. just to name a few
When was Disgaea a visual novel?
Disgaea Infinite
huh, hadn't heard of it, cool
probably never heard of it because its a psp game :p
I have PSP
yeah but PSP games usually dont get awhole lotta hype or attention so unless it was a PSP game you were looking for you most likely would never have heard of it :p
According to Tom from XSeed over in the comments on the Blog, it's best to of played the first game as there'll be references in the new game that you might miss out on. So I had a few quid in my PSN account and bought the first game.
I just played a few mins of it so far and don't let the cartoony look of the game fool ya. I love my horror and this game with a set of headphones is really freaky. So I plan on sinking myself into this for the next week or however long it takes until the new game arrives.
All of a sudden I'm getting excited over a game franchise I'd never even heard of up until 30 mins ago.
