Zombies Won’t Be Invading Declassified

We've seen the walking undead in every Call of Duty since they were introduced in World at War . The upcoming Black Ops II will certainly have zombies, too.

But Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified for the PlayStation Vita will not. Activision community manager Dan Amrich confirmed at the One of Swords blog that the new portable CoD won't be featuring zombies because the developers have placed standard multiplayer at the top of their priority list. As Amrich wrote:

"That’s the core experience, and that simply needs to come first. There’s always a list of things you want to do and things you need to do, and at the end of the day, realistic goals are the ones that people actually attain."

That being said, the game will boast a Hostiles Mode, which is apparently similar. You have to take out wave after wave of enemies, even if they're not undead…you just have to make 'em dead, as is common in any shooter. Personally, I'll just be interested to see how Declassified turns out. I think the Vita has proven it can provide a pretty great FPS experience with those dual analog sticks, so… Still want Killzone: Mercenary more, though.

The thing that bothers me is the 4v4 limit. The PSP handled bigger MP than that.

I won't be invading this game either. It's not the absent of zombies that bothers me but the absent of an actual campaign. The weak MP features also are a problem.

And the funny thing is they have the nerve to charge 50 bucks for this.

Further proof they just wanted to get ANYthing they could out the door with the CoD name on it.

There is a single player campaign, not in the traditional sense though. It will be more like the single player campaign of unit 13.

Yeah, there's no way I'm getting this game for $50. I'd rather pay $20 or $25 for the meager offerings here. No traditional single player coupled with small multiplayer matches and absence of zombies makes this low on my priority list. I'll definitely be waiting a while. Black Ops 2, on the other hand, looks pretty good, and I haven't been the biggest fan of COD in the past.

Agreed. I'm way more interested in Killzone Mercenary. As much as I don't like the Call of Duty franchise, I'm still looking forward to having a solid FPS with high re-playability on the go. I know Killzone should offer this, just have to wait and see with CoD.
