Destiny Community May Have Found The Fall Expansion Date

The official sequel won't drop until next year, but journalists and analysts alike have been predicting a "Taken King-sized expansion" for late 2016.

And now, the very active community may have discovered the launch date.

According to Eurogamer , Reddit user Rezyl Azzir posted a walkthrough on how to find a new Grimoire lore card mere minutes after the update in question went live…which seems a little odd. The user's account and post was eventually deleted but other users found a previously posted Latin message from Azzir, which translated to- "The twentieth day of the ninth month. IT is coming. Forward, to the stars."

If it's accurate, this would mean something big is coming on September 20, which sounds about right. Destiny and that huge expansion, The Taken King, both launched in September. Theories concerning possible content abound; some believe we'll see a new Mars area originally intended to be in the last expansion, and others say the brutal Cabal will play a significant role.

Either way, we'll know soon enough. In the latest weekly update at Bungie's blog , community manager David "DeeJ" Dague teased an important update that will arrive this fall:

"I've seen it. I'm excited about it. I will say no more… For now."

Okay, who's excited? The game's big April update just arrived last week on the 12th; have you tried it out yet? And what do you hope to see this fall?
