Revamped Fallout 4 Survival Mode Is Gonna Be A Doozy

Developer Bethesda promised a "complete overhaul" of the Survival Mode in Fallout 4 , and this prompted a search by the fans.

The result is a Reddit user posting up details he found after extracting an overview of the mode by digging through the game's files.

Bethesda couldn't deny what was found, either, as they confirmed the findings via Twitter , with the caveat that they're "still messing with it," so it could change down the road. Here's part of the description of the overhauled Survival Mode:

"Is the struggle of this world merely a pleasant game for you? Do you long for a more brutal take on a life lived post apocalypse? If you answered 'Yes and yes!,' then Survival difficulty is for you!"

This mode presents the player with the "maximum challenge," which includes the disabling of manual and quick-saving. You have to find a bed and go to sleep if you wish to save your progress, so have fun with that . Plus, the combat is that much deadlier; you will dole out more damage but you'll take more, too. That's just a sampling of the changes, so check out the full list through the Reddit link above.

Bethesda hasn't offered a release date for the new Survival Mode but it should be relatively soon. For more, check out this GameSpot video concerning the mode in question:
