Destiny Gets Valentine’s Day Event, New Iron Banner Coming

So what if you're alone on Valentine's Day? Destiny will keep you warm.

Developer Bungie has revealed several pieces of good news in the team's first update of 2016 , and this includes a special Valentine's Day in-game event called "Crimson Days."

Bungie says it's similar in scale to the Halloween event, Festival of the Lost. Crimson Days kicks off on February 9 and will run for one week and additionally, the Tower will receive a visual update (yep, it's getting a red dye job, as you can see in the pic here), and the Crucible mode will get a new 2v2 variant called Crimson Doubles.

"It features a special twist, born of new gameplay and mechanics that only battle-tested star-crossed lovers will appreciate. You'll need a dancing partner–preferably one that compliments your fighting style. The two of you will have a chance to earn some 'sweet' loot together in the Crucible. To receive your gifts, you'll have to put your differences aside and fight well as a couple."

Expect more details to arrive next week. Lastly, the developer announced that the limited-time multiplayer event Iron Banner will make a triumphant return on January 26 at 10 a.m. PST (it'll end on February 2 at 12 a.m. PST). The Rift game type will be on display for this event and players can earn lots of nifty new weapons and armor; check out some of that gear through the link above.

During the last Iron Banner event, players had a shot at snagging some PlayStation-exclusive gear …did you get any?
