Sian Yue Tan, the creator of the original Rocketbirds , has announced a sequel and as he revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , it's coming soon to PS4 and Vita.
Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken released on PS3 back in 2011 but they wanted to expand on that concept. So, they built on the Co-op mode and added a customizable Budgie Commando character, along with "lots and lots of guns and items to collect." Up to four players will be able to play at once and unlike the first game, one person can play this mode solo, so they renamed it "Rescue Mode." We can also expect "seriously updated visuals," a vastly improved online multiplayer experience, and better controls and responsiveness.
It certainly sounds like a blast, so we'll look forward to more info. By the way, the trailer for Rocketbirds 2 doesn't show any gameplay, but we provided a gameplay vid for the original as well:
