Oh, don't worry. You might be able to visit the iconic New York boroughs when Ubisoft delivers downloadable content.
But unfortunately, they've confirmed that Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens, and the Bronx won't be playable areas when Tom Clancy's The Division launches, despite the fact that several trailers have shown Brooklyn gameplay.
No, the team will be focusing exclusively on Midtown Manhattan for the game's roll-out, as creative director Magnus Jansen told The Examiner :
"For Tom Clancy's The Division we are going with Midtown Manhattan. It is because of the 1-to-1 recreation and the way the pandemic has [happened]. Basically, everything has been hit and there are no more resources because everyone tried to get out. There is no more gasoline in the cars, there is no traffic, you're on foot."
Jansen added that Midtown Manhattan will give players a "huge open world" to explore and it's "more than enough to sink your teeth into." And of course, DLC will be coming your way, so it's possible that all the boroughs, including Brooklyn, will eventually become playable. You just have to be patient.
If you're intrigued by The Division , you should pre-order so you can participate in the upcoming beta ; PS4 owners can access the test on January 29. The full game is slated to arrive on March 8 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

I'm really excited for this game. But had I not known this, I wouldn't have cared. Now I'm a little worried it's going to be another Destiny. And I'm strictly talking about content. I don't want to get to the point where I'm turning a game on to do what I've already done for a 100th time. I guess my worry at launch is that it won't be able to support itself. It might get stale or old prior to any future dlc.
This also makes me want to skip the beta. I havnt participated in a beta for a while for the very reason of the "been there done that" feeling.
Destiny gave me this unfortunate lack of optimism for these online open world games and their content. Hopefully based on development time, this game has plenty to offer. It looks fantastic.

Excuse my confusion here but, will the other boroughs be free, or is Ubisoft trying make this game into another "episodal for pay" game????
If so, this is going to be 1 really expensive full game when all is said & done, IMO.
No it won't be Episodic, it's an open world RPG (ok, I suppose that doesn't really mean much when you think of FFVII remake getting the episodic treatment) but as Ben hypothesised, although it's not been said by Ubisoft yet, the other areas could be unlocked through dlc later in the games life. I don't know if you have played Destiny but you start out with Earth, the moon and a few other planets then much later on through dlc other planets became available.
I'm interested in this game as long as it fixes the issues Destiny suffers from with its random number generator loot drops and lack of end game activitys to keep long time players coming back. I also hope it doesn't get repetitive and grindy.

Thanks, As a SP mode only player, I'm not in the know about the workings of almost all multiplayer games, the only one's I've ever bothered to try out(& liked) was ME3 & Killzone3.
Never bothered with Destiny & I guess if I were to try it out now, I'd probably have my a*s handed to me with an apple shoved up it, being a year late newbie, LOL
Rng of fire… Rng of fire
Pass. Online only = no buy
So the other 4 boroughs will be $10 each plus $5 or $8 for weapons and armor upgrades maybe i will wait untill the deluxe version comes by late summer or early fall to get this game!!
