Looking for new stuff to play this week?
Well, the PlayStation Store has a healthy assortment of titles, and you might just download more than one.
This week's latest digital additions have been revealed over at the PlayStation Blog and it looks like there's a little something for everyone.
First up is the acclaimed first-person narrative Gone Home: Console Edition , which should be perfect for those seeking a creepy, intriguing thrill. This new iteration features 90 minutes of developer commentary as well. Then there's the next PS2 classic, Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits , which old-school RPG fans should really appreciate, and another RPG, Banner Saga , inspired by Viking legend and boasting gorgeous hand-drawn artistry.
Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India is another great entry in the 2D off-shoot series, and you can also check out the Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 beta, which kicks off on January 14 and runs through the weekend. See? All kinds of good stuff!
The Banner Saga art does look lovely.
I believe it's a heavily story based turn based tactical RPG.
Ben D and Co. should eat this up.
That grid worries me greatly.
Is it really accurate to refer to 'Gone Home' as "creepy"? Sorry, I don't mean to nitpick, I was just really disappointed in that game, and adjectives like that are part of the reason my expectations were subverted (in a non-pleasant fashion).
That scares me I was interested in that.
Somehow I got it into my mind that it was a bit of a horror game, but it's more of a mystery/adventure drama, and I think my experience was tainted by false expectations. I loved 'Everybody's Gone To The Rapture', but I knew what I was in for.
If you're really interested, I would recommend picking it up on a sale. It's only a couple hours long and obviously I'm of the minority opinion.
People tell me Gone Home was awesome and I wanna check it out but like Rapture was so slow and nothing happened I don't wanna get burned again. Maybe wait on a sale.
