Bungie Clarifies Its Destiny Content Plan

Bungie has made it plain that their Destiny content plans for 2016 will be a little different.

Previously, they said they're going to issue smaller, event-based updates as opposed to large expansions. This has prompted some concerns, so the developer clarified its intentions in a new Bungie Weekly Update .

Community Manager Eric Osborne first said the latest event – the Sparrow Racing League – would only be available for three weeks. It's considered an event for the holiday but if you like it, make sure to let Bungie know. As for the future, the team has a whiteboard full of developments, includes events, activities, content and features, all set for 2016. Said Osborne:

"The first of these early 2016 experiences will be on a scale close to Festival of the Lost. The second will be far larger than anything you've seen since the release of The Taken King. There's also another significant update to the world and sandbox planned in this same window."

He added that Bungie wants to avoid the big gaps between content drops that Destiny players experienced during the game's first year. Yes, the updates will be smaller but they'll come "at a faster clip," he said. "To that end, the updates described above are all currently slated to hit across winter and spring of 2016, with more to come, as well." So, it's not necessarily about less content, but about different kinds of content delivered in smaller packages, with less time between each release.

Are you okay with that? And have you downloaded the most recent update ?
