The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and Rising Star Games have teamed up to bring you a new game called One Upon Light , which will be available on PlayStation 4 this month, as announced over at the PlayStation Blog .
In this unique adventure, you'll be using shadow manipulation as a gameplay mechanic; they're calling it "Shadow Echo." You have to learn and understand the laws of light and shadow, and then you can "temporarily record shadows to create beneficial pockets of darkness to navigate safely through each level of the game." You'll have to conquer complex puzzles in real-time, but time will slow a little when you go to use your Shadow Echo.
As for narrative, you'll assume the role of a scientist who awakes to discover that he has a "highly photosensitive condition" and he has to escape the Aurora Science Lab. The lab has become a dangerous labyrinth but with his new ability, he can utilize items and objects while manipulating shadows. It seems like a really cool idea; check it out:
