BioWare Offers A Few Tasty Mass Effect: Andromeda Tidbits

You won't see the new Mass Effect until later next year, but at least BioWare has offered up a few details to whet our appetites.

Senior development director Chris Flynn has been talking a bit on Twitter (points summarized by VG24/7 ), and now we have a better idea of what to expect.

After saying we wouldn't see gameplay any time soon (unfortunate but not surprising), Flynn said we should expect the combat to feel similar to Mass Effect 3 , but there will be "some new elements that make it more dynamic." As for the story, don't expect to see familiar faces : "Story-wise, it wouldn't make much sense," he said. He did add that as they haven't decided on all the characters in Andromeda , a few minor characters from previous installments might show up.

He also gave a solid hint that new alien races will be included, and he led us to believe competitive multiplayer will be a feature as well. Aside from that, all we've got is that slick teaser trailer they showed off at E3 this year. Gonna have to be patient.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is scheduled to release in the fall of 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
