Guitar Hero Live Says: Yes, Your Voice Is An Instrument, Too

Everyone knew Guitar Hero Live would place an emphasis on guitars.

But in a pre-Gamescom trailer, developer FreeStyleGames confirmed that in fact, there will be another instrument included in the anticipated new title: Your voice.

That's right, vocal parts will be featured in the game; once you plug in a microphone, a vocal track will appear above the guitar tracks. The vocals track looks pretty familiar, actually, so franchise followers should be right at home. Vocals will be scored individually after your set is over, but it's unclear as to whether or not we can have one vocalist and one guitarist participating in local multiplayer.

We also don't know which game modes will support singing, but it looks like Guitar Hero TV in the video you see below (they address the vocal aspect at about the 3:30 mark). Maybe you can't sing in the campaign; not sure about that yet.

But anyway, it's another dimension to an already upgraded concept. Check out Guitar Hero Live when it launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and mobile devices on October 20.
