Tearaway Unfolded’s Versatile Companion App Detailed

Tearaway remains arguably the best Vita game in existence.

But an even better version will soon come to PlayStation 4 and over at the PlayStation Blog , we get yet another reason to take this unbelievably creative journey on the home console.

Tearaway Unfolded will have second-screen functionality when it launches, and community manager Jenny Lawrence outlined the game's companion app. This lets players interact with the game's robust creative features on their mobile devices; it's important because while we could use the Vita's touchscreen to create designs, we can't do that with the DualShock 4. So, these features are now usable on mobile devices and in fact, you can use the Vita for this as well.

The companion app will also give the PS4 version the same camera functionality as the original Vita version. The app will communicate with the game in real time, so if you decide to customize your character in the app, the changes will appear immediately in the game. You can even send objects from the virtual world to the app; Lawrence says this kinda gives the game an element of "asynchronous multiplayer."

If you never had the pleasure on Vita, you've gotta play Tearaway Unfolded on PS4. It releases on September 8.
