Street Fighter V Beta Details: Six Fighters, No Local Versus Mode

Ready to throw down in the beta?

Capcom has finally released the details for the upcoming Street Fighter V beta test, which will run for five days starting on July 23 at 6 p.m. on PlayStation 4.

Initially, you will only have access to four characters, but Capcom will add Cammy and Birdie on Saturday, July 25. The reason for the delay is that Capcom also wants to test out their content delivery system; if it doesn't work, it obviously needs to be fixed before the final product launches. Also, the beta will not boast a local versus mode because the "primary purpose of the beta is to test the online functionality."

Interestingly, while you wait for a match, you'll be training in the Grid (need some brushing up?). Once the match begins, you'll be battling in either the Bustling Side Street in China, the Terminal Station in London, or in the brand new stage called The Forgotten Waterfall.

If you want access to the test and you reside in North America, you can gain entry by pre-ordering the game on the PSN, or at Best Buy, GamStop, or Amazon. Street Figther V is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 4 and PC in March 2016.

I've been playing this series since I was a kid and I won't be pre ordering.

No local matches? Bad move.
Early beta with a few characters? Bad move.

Lacklustre even for a beta, other than that the game is looking extremely polished in it's visuals and looks like a ton of fun to play. Looking forward to the next character reveals, Blanka and Karin are looking like the next ones.
