Shadow Of Mordor’s Final DLC Lets You Play As Celebrimbor

If you're still hooked on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor , you'll look forward to this.

It's the final piece of downloadable content; it's coming soon and it's called The Bright Lord. This last expansion builds on the story of Celebrimbor, the wraith haunting Talion that gives him his special powers.

We only caught snippets of the back-story surrounding Celebrimbor in the main game; in The Bright Lord, we actually control the wraith as he recruits an Orc army and marches against Sauron. This ends in the epic encounter fans of the game have been waiting for: The chance to face down the ultimate evil. As design director Michael de Plater told GameSpot :

"The big revelations we focused on in Shadow of Mordor were Celebrimbor’s backstory and his involvement in forging of the Rings of Power, connected to the fact he’d been dragged back to Mordor to forge the One Ring and that Sauron used Celebrimbor's Elven craft to give the Ring its power. And it's like Tolkien wrote: 'The Ring did something it's master did not intend.' We looked at that idea and how the One Ring had these two parents, this conflict going on within it, within the flashbacks in Shadow of Mordor as you recovered Celebrimbor's memory. We're excited to go back and play with that and explore Celebrimbor and Sauron's relationship more."

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor remains one of the best games of the new generation thus far. If you haven't tried it yet, maybe now's the time.

Like the FULL game? Dang, I'd say it's worth at least 25$. I played through a little bit of it, but I got swamped up with a lot so I never got back to it but it was fun. Though I played on PC so I'm not sure what big differences there might be. I wish the map was a bit bigger, but that's alright I guess with how really neat the chief system is you can spend a lot of time taking over the groups for fun.

I got it for 30 around christmas and would have gladly paid 60 for it.

Game is really well done, in everything it does. Yes I can see how it might get "repetitive" but I never felt any of that because I was too busy enjoying the game.

It is like Assassins Creed, meets Batman Arkym Asylum, meets Lord of the Rings.

It was my game of the year last year.
