Hey, I'd scrounge up some old games just to get some ice cream.
According to The Marin County Independent Journal , district attorney Ed Berberian will launch a new buy-back program where people can trade in toy guns and violent video games in exchange for Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
Berberian held a similar program last year for firearms and now, on Saturdays during the month of October, anyone can turn in toy guns and violent games at various Marin County locations. Then they'll get their free ice cream. However, we don't know what flavors will be offered nor do we know how much you're gonna get. I say it should be contingent upon what you trade in; if you bring in more than five violent video games, you should get a big ol' sundae.
Marla Hedlund, development community relations manager for the Center for Domestic Peace, said this program is an effort to "inspire people to become part of the movement to creative peace in a violence-free environment." Berberian believes ditching the toy guns and violent games could have a big impact on a child's development. They're not saying what qualifies as a "violent" video game but obviously, M-rated games will be targeted.
And once again, we're forced to ask the all-too logical question: What is a child doing with an M-rated product to begin with? And whose fault is it that he or she has it? The industry's or the parent's? Or is that just too logical for politics?
No.
Diabetes here I come!
hmmm, 5 video games for a big sundae would seem like a ripoff, but that still would be a better return than trading in at Gamestop.
Until Michelle Obama shuts them down for promoting childhood obesity! Today's kids just can't have any fun… 😉
Just how much Ice Cream do you get, I mean games are quite expensive, so I would expect at least my own body mass in ice cream in return… Sorry this idea is so silly.
Yo' how much sugar in these ice creams?
No just no.
also for the parents;don't let children fire guns
