We're assuming it's a new installment, despite the fact that it's using the same number…again.
Dead or Alive 5 first launched in September of 2012, and then we got the Ultimate version the following year. Now, via Esuteru , Koei Tecmo has announced Dead or Alive 5: Last Round for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Producer Yosuke Hayashi showed off a surprise trailer over the weekend during Japan Gamer's Live event, and it shows franchise mainstrays like Ryu Hayabusa. It's no big shock to learn that fighting veteran Team Ninja is at the helm, but that's about all we know right now. We don't know when it might be coming, or even if it'll break Japanese borders. Well, there's no doubt the new consoles need a fresh DoA; that just has to happen.
Anybody remember DoA 2: Hardcore for the PS2? One of the first great games for that system.
Related Game(s): Dead or Alive 5: Last Round
Oooooooooof course.
Make a new one? NAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Just resell it and make the girls look better and release lots and lots more dlc. Who even wants to unlock stuff in games anymore through hard work and skills? no one thats who!
I'll probably get the f2p version if its hits ps4, I'm not shelling out more money for this game again.
Okay, this re-release phase is becoming an epidemic! I as fine with something like The Last of Us, but Dead Or Alive 5 was hardly remarkable, no Saints Row IV… It seems the only reason to own a PS4 in 2014 is to play PS3 games in 1080P.
Vivi, DOA, like most fighting games, re-release with updated content, sometimes it jumps console generations in the process.
We've had 4 versions of Street Fighter IV.
3 versions of Virtua Fighter 5
I know Persona Arena is about to re-release.
And DOA has been the king of milking it.
DOA2
DOA2 LE (Japanese exclusive I imported)
DOA2 HC
DOA2 Ultimate (Xbox)
Marketing and appeasing the core of a fighting community is entirely different than feeding content driven gamers who just want a new experience who then move on to something "new or different" on a highly regular basis. Isn't this the exact reason why so many hate HD remasters? Remasters don't fit in with their new and different appetite.
Whereas fighting hardcore's eat this stuff up. They already love the game play. They like getting more stuff for it, including all the optimizations and balance tweaks.

Meeh im still waiting 4 Dead Or Alive 6
I wish they'd fix the boob physics, they are too flowy right now. Boobs shouldn't flow like water.
WooooOOOOooo HoOOOoooooooO!
Day one all the way. If it was coming out next tuesday I'd cancel my Destiny pre-order for it.
looks like they're bringing the DOAtec level from DOA3 over as well.
EDIT: now all I need is for them to re-release the Ninja Gaiden trilogy on PS4.

My only reason to think about it: more outfits.
if you hadn't downloaded Maria, Phase 4 and NEOTENGU(she releases tomorrow as DLC) there'll be those to have and appreciate. And there'll likely be some other new character or two and new stages, and maybe also another Virtua Fighter (I'm thinking maybe like Wolf or Kage)
I'm hoping for graphical touch up work across the board. I doubt we'll see actual mesh enhancements on character clothing etc (but maybe on their bodies), as so many outfits have already been created. I'm thinking they may enhance shaders on like skin and shadows etc. Maybe add subsurface scattering to the skin for more realistic light gathering. I'm also hoping they grab higher resolution artwork for their stages.
I'd also appreciate them making the cutscenes and win poses 60fps again (right now the FPS drops to 30FPS for those scenes)

Yeah, I agree with Ninja Gaiden. Awesome games… Great attack combos.
Not sure if they should remaster it though. I'd prefer a brand new Ninja Gaiden instead.
