Ben-DutkaIt looks like developer Volition might be "primed" to reveal a next-gen Saints Row project.
If you check a posting for the upcoming PAX Prime Panel (set for Friday), you'll see the following: "Quiz Show Hour with Volition – Project Reveal & Prizes," which will take place on August 29 at 10 AM.
This is when the developer will show off "exclusive gameplay, art, and details for an upoming project," and panelists include Deep Silver brand director Aubrey Norris, as well as creative director Steve Jaros and producer Jim Boone. Last year's Saints Row IV was lots of fun, but many deemed it a step back from previous franchise glory.
Let's hope a next-gen Saints Row is better. That being said, there's a chance they're ditching the franchise for a little while to work on something new…
Where does the franchise go next? I'm guessing back to cities and stuff rather than aliens.
I hope they find a successful strategy to make the game go even further out there. maybe deep space into sprawling alien cities and floppy alien dildos to beat up aliens with. Things that happen that you can't discern, but you know it's messed up for some reason. All of it to become intergalactic overlord.
or maybe the rest of alien life is civilized and prudish and the saints do their thing of messing it all up and somehow become praised for it by the citizens while the powers that be fight them. Kind of like a Chris Rock movie but instead of white people, they're aliens.
I loved Saints Row II and III. Saints Row IV could have beign better if the graphics were up to PS3 standards. I have seen PS2 titles that looked better. The fun factor was high, but GTAV was superior in every posible way.
Saints Row 3&4 were great, absolutely classic, took the series right out of the gutter that was Sr1&2…
Saints Row 2 was terrible, in before fanboy cry babies beg for the game to be a mediocre GTA clone mod with filler again….
Saints Row 3&4 were great, all killer , no filler, real games as opposed to the copy and paste GTA that the first two were.
Hope this is Saints Row 5, it better not be a crappy reboot back to GTA land…..

4 was just stupid, i mean it felt more like a crackdown game then saints row.
perfect example of identity crisis, and a perfect example of whats wrong with sequels these days.
not sequels at all, totally new IPs with sequels names slapped on them because they will bring in more $$$$$!
bring saints row back by returning it to its roots, about gang wars, not stupid superhero powers fighting off this alien bullsh*t!
im hoping for a red faction guerrilla sequel though, thats gotta be one of THE best games of last gen!
and by far the best red faction game, i mean the premise and darker tone of armageddon was great, and the geo mod destruction engine, and the new gun which rips everything apart or repairs it, was really cool, but the game was FAR too linear and repetitive.
the complete opposite to what made guerrilla so amazing!
&^%$ that saints row sh*t, the industrys been BEGGING out for someone to revitalize the stale bland shooter genre, and what better franchise to do that than one of the very first franchises who popularized it?
