BioWare Still Tight-Lipped On Mass Effect

It's tough to get BioWare to spill the beans.

Now that we have a concrete launch date for Dragon Age: Inquisition (October 7), fans are wondering if the developer will start talking about the new Mass Effect entry.

Studio director Yanick Roy took to Twitter and described the development status as being "somewhere in the middle." He hasn't been all that forthcoming in recent months, saying previously that his team was more interested in "doing it right rather than doing it fast." Well, I'll go with that. Still, we don't know much about the next Mass Effect ; we're not even sure what it'll be called.

It may not be called "Mass Effect 4" because the original trilogy is over; the Commander Shepard story arc is complete. Therefore, we could be looking at something entirely new…and the fans can't wait to see what it is.

They definitely announced this one way too early… Why would anyone think that they want to talk about it now when their next game, which ME4 isn't, won't even be out for another six months? Madness.

Aren't they supposed to be working on another new IP as well?

being a ME fan I'm glad they've at least made it known this franchise is making the generational transition.

and while I'm sure there are plenty of Bioware fans who just play everything they make, both critics and gamers seem to agree that ME has been the better franchise, over DA that is.

EDIT: but I'm fine with the secrecy over ME's future. Whatever and whenever it'll be I'm sure I'll like it a ton.

EA has ruined Bioware. They were THE go-to for WRPGs for most of the 2000s but now?

They won't talk until the first few pieces of Inquisition DLC are out. We need to give them room to breathe.

After having a love/hate relationship with Mass Effect I'll be approaching any new project with a long pointy stick.

of course there not talking about it, common sense!
they wont talk about it till inquisition is out and probably even after that.
im glad to see them taking the time to put the work in it deserves though, i really hope they take ME2 as a inspiration building block.
reason why that game was so amazing was the amazingly complex indepth world and characters, it really felt like an alive world, that you yourself had history, your crew had a past history, hell every little character in the game felt like they had a real past!
characters were not there just to fill the space to make it look populated, every character was there to tell a story, to enhance that world.
every character felt like a main character, had the story and indepth information on them to make you really care about them.
and its such a shame ME3 lost that!
i REALLY hope the new ME tries to recapture that living world, if there able to marry that with the action packed gameplay of ME3 they will be in for the perfect game!
