It's not just a shooter. It's a cooperative team-based shooter with loads of potential.
2K Games has announced that the latest from Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock studios, Evolve , is headed to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC later this fall.
It's described as an "asymmetrical team shooter," as it can support up to five players: Four will assume the role of a Hunter (which utilize a first-person perspective) and the fifth will be the Monster (which is controlled in the third-person viewpoint). The idea is that the Hunters must find a way to take down the Monster; multiple Monsters will present distinct challenges due to differing skills. The game also features the revered CryEngine from Crytek.
If you want to pre-order the game, you'll snag the Monster Expansion Pack, which includes a Savage Goliath Skin and a new Monster character. The latter won't be ready until a little after the title hits store shelves, but that's okay. Lastly, don't forget that Take-Two Interactive bought the IP rights to Evolve last year. THQ went bankrupt and when they auctioned off their properties, Take-Two snagged this one for $10.8 million.
