Street Fighter X Tekken Launch Date, Special Edition

Once again, February and March are shaping up to be big months.

At this past week's New York Comic-Con event, Capcom announced that Street Fighter X Tekken , the hotly anticipated crossover fighter, will launch in North America for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 6, and three days later in Europe, as usual.

Producer Yoshinori Ono also confirmed that the team has started work on a PC version, although we didn't get a release date. The game is also coming to the PlayStation Vita, but that too lacks a release date, although we're hoping it comes out for the handheld's US launch. This could make the new portable's launch that much more appealing, don't you think?

By the way, if you're a hardcore fan, you can step up and nab the Street Fighter X Tekken Special Edition: it includes the game, a "build-it-yourself" arcade cabinet bank measuring 5" in height (woah), and a prequel comic book from UDON. Lastly, the SE boasts 36 "gems," a gameplay mechanic that alters abilities and stats.

Can you imagine if we got a chance to build an entire arcade cabinet from scratch? With all the circuitry and everything?

Uhhh… a 5 inch arcade cabinet?… why? I don't think you can play the game on it and in 3D, right? lol

The only valuables to me are the prequel comic and the new gem thing… Gotta research on those… That SE can't cost no more than 70 bucks… if so, I'll pass…

F***ing typical! This Special Edition just proves what this project is all about, comic book exploitation.

I am sick to death of seeing comic books invadsing other forms of media and now it is actually infecting a series I care about Tekken. Not to say Namco are innocent either, they have gone down hill with the series ever since T4 and now they have completely sold out. Tekken 6 is the last Tekken I will ever buy and that was an ambomination.

Atleast Tekken 6 was a complete game when it was released unlike most other beat em ups. No DLC, no nothing, which was a blessing considering most fighting games shove in the colour swap costumes & extra characters for a price usually after the game hits retail.

So you're not buying anymore Tekkens? Your loss, TTT2 is going to be the bomb. It's what Tekken fans wanted for ages & Harada delivered.

What the f=== you say about comic books Ultimadream? I know you ain't dissin' my favorite hobby in the world. It's not enough to hear old people talk smack about comicbooks, but "hearing" it from a person who plays video games? Sod off you wanker.

I take it from your comments that you didn't like Infamous?

I won't bother with the special edition & i don't really care about the arcade cabinet as i have my own arcade stick which i use for other fighting games which works brilliantly.

I'm hell pumped for the game though but i am just abit miffed on the roster. Some of the inclusions just defy belief imo. I see no point in why they included Rufus when we already have Bob & i still cannot understand why Abel made it in. Talk about wasted character slots.

I'm hoping for some more Alpha goodness, give me Karin along with Tekken's Asuka, Jin, Paul & Law & i will be stoaked.

Oh & let's hold off on the evil versions of characters, that is just pure laziness.
