Going Over The Edge In The Run

Hey, $25 million can make people do crazy things.

In Need for Speed: The Run , the goal is to get from one coast to another. If you do it the fastest, you earn the big cash prize. Of course, many other drivers are racing for the very same prize, so it may come down to…kill or be killed. In the latest trailer for EA's new racer, we watch as a pursuing cop gets mashed by a big truck and a competing racer takes what appears to be the final plunge over a cliff.

We expect it to control much like last year's Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit , but the addition of a fleshed-out storyline and this coast-to-coast contest makes The Run stand out. Also, we just have to ask: if we go over the edge like that unfortunate racer in the video, will there be any big consequences? As in, the race is over? Or will you just blink and reenter the race, as you often do in arcade racers?

Well, whatever. Game looks fun.

I'm really hoping this is good. We need a good story based racer.

I prefer one without a showing any characters. The cars are so realistic, but then you look at the character and bring you back to reality. That you are still playing a game.

My favorite racing game is Need For Speed III on PC (The PlayStation version was a totally different game). I played that from when I was 4 years old and it's still awesome.

Heh, I never woulda thought it would be rated T for violence, though. The game does look fun! Not as much 90s charm, but still looks like a great racer.

Yes Poet, Need for Speed 3 Hot Pursuit is still one of my favorite racers of all time, right beside Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 for the PS2 🙂
I still need to get the last one, I should be able to get it cheap now. Did you play it? Was it any good?

I still haven't played hot Pursuit yet. I plan to when it drops to $20.

Motorstorm does the best job of showing what happens when you fall off of cliffs… lol 😉

But I am excited for this game… Need For Speed: Most Wanted is probably my favorite racing game of all time 😀

it better NOT control like last years hot pursuit!
i kinda like my cars to do what there told now.
not grab a cup of tea, and sit down and have a discussion on it!
i doubt it will though, a totally different developer is doing this so the controls should be fine.
hopefully!
i actually picked this and undercover up off steam the other day for 10 bucks!
not bad for 2 PC games retailers are selling for 40+ bucks each!
even with a steering wheel HPs controls are still driving me insane!
TURN!
TURN!
TURN YOU FAT PIECE OF SH*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh great, thanks now im in the wall and have suffered a several second penalty.
tis what the neighbours have had to put up with for the past few hours.
