We haven't heard much of anything from Sony Santa Monica for some time. God of War: Ascension came out over two years ago and since then, this franchise has been mostly off the radar.
Now, Sony confirms God of War III Remastered for PS4 , which sounds awesome, but it isn't what gamers really want. No, what they want is a true sequel, which we actually haven't seen since GoWIII in 2010. Ascension wasn't a new numbered installment and I'm willing to bet Sony strongly encouraged the development team to have something ready for PlayStation 4. Maybe they even wanted something earlier in the generation but it's taking longer, or something like that. Either way, with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End disappearing into 2016, the 2015 holiday season looks pretty anemic for Sony right now.
Obviously, they need a solid E3 show in June and with this new Remaster announcement, it seems like a clear sign: They're going to unveil God of War IV within the next few months; I wouldn't be surprised if it closed Sony's stage presentation at E3. I think whatever Guerrilla Games is working on is too far off, as is Quantic Dream's project, although I suppose Polyphony could step up with Gran Turismo 7 . But all signs are pointing toward one thing: Sony plans to hang its hat on the new GoW, which should inevitably pop up before too long.
The only question is whether or not Kratos will return…
A new character would be Godlike.
Female Kratos would be great…

They shouldnt do another one. The series has run its course. But, I said the same thing in regards to Ascension and that game was fantastic and VERY underappreciated by many. ,
I'd hedge my bets and say that Santa Monica's new project is coming to E3, with the highest likelihood that it is God of War 4. I hope not, though. Either way, Sony needs to stop sitting on its hands and start announcing the projects that its WWS has in the pipeline, because although they make the best games going, IMO, even my faith is starting to wane.
Never go all in when playing poker. Sony wouldn't announce everything all at once, and because of that, they will always have something for us to look forward too. Even though I don't like the God of War series.
I can't say i really wanna see the end of Kratos ever i mean i wanna see what happened to him after 3 since it showed he clearly survived, but if they do go with a new character i hope they try out some different types of ancient civilizations, maybe go egyptian and take on horus and anubis lol
I think viking would be amazing 🙂 Honestly not enough viking games in my opinion!
Please let it be in a different setting. I'd hate to see them milk Kratos until the series stops making any sense.

I still don't see the inevitable part. I mean sure, it can be a very good chance that we'll see an unveiling at e3, but 100%?
As much as I didn't want a GoW4 (Due to GoW3's conclusion being satisfying) I think the PS4 really needs it right now & it can't be another Ascension, it needs to be a grand title worth of a numeral.

I see what you mean, but as games go, it's still enjoyable. Kratos wasn't Kratos but we still had plenty of action, badass enemies and interesting weapons.

Maybe a small teaser but I'm skeptical we will see it. GOWIII HD is wierd, its so old. But yes if ever there was a game for graphics whores that is the one to get. I'd prefer a Dante's Inferno HD from Visceral Games but what can ya do?
I think we will get a tease from Geurilla's RPG. And I think it will be a drone-like swing through a portion of their colorful world getting up close to a couple characters all set to a tune that emits the emotion of wonder.

yeah can't say i fault ur logic or following of trends and stuff like that it would seem to make sense with what you put on the table to back up ur statement i would be keen for a GoW4 i love ghost of sparta on the psp and did make a start to god of war in the collection that i got on the vita while back so i would certainly welcome such an amazing and its certainly the type of game sony does so well bring it on aye i say
